New Indoor Range in Baltimore County...

The wife and I haven't practiced since moving back here last July. I stocked up on ammo before leaving Colorado and it's been making a hole in the floor ever since. The transportation laws, ammo rules, distance and rumored poor customer service has dissuaded us from shooting here MD, almost to...

      A note about Volkmann 1911's

Having lived in Denver for 15 years and having the opportunity to use and inspect Luke's handiwork I have no problem recommending his pistols even over the older, established builders.

      1911 and reliability

The extractor on my TRP broke @ less than 500 rounds. Sure, it can happen with any gun, but I didn't expect it on a $1500 pistol. I replaced it with an EB forged piece. My TRP doesn't like the Wilson mags. CMC + run great. If I had the money I certainly would jump on a Volkmann, Wilson, NH, etc.

      MD Home Defense Laws?

I thought of that too and tend to agree.

      Horst & McCann Memberships...

Me and the wife were looking for an enclosed range on this side of town and H & M looked to fit the bill... until I read all of the rules and restrictions. I'm not about to sell off my ammo stash of FMJ and then replace it with TMJ -- that's just stupid.

MSP wait times for handgun approval

WTF... costs more to tag my camper than my TRUCK?

How long ago was this? If that's the case I want some money back!!!

WTF... costs more to tag my camper than my TRUCK?

Since we're bitching about tag fees, it just cost us $900 to put Md. tags on an '06 Pathfinder. So instead of Md. calling it a sales tax ( which we already paid when we bought it in Denver), they call it an excise tax and proceed to bend you over. :mad54:

Couldn't order a pistol shipped to a Maryland FFL

What type of lock are we talking about? Since I bought mine in CO. am I grandfathered in? I don't need to be tripped up by the fine print in a statute when I move my guns into MD.

Couldn't order a pistol shipped to a Maryland FFL

So... what's the deal with an internal lock? Something else I need to be aware of?

Moving back to MD: Where to live?

Hey Todd. I'd like to hit the tracks, but I need to freshen my motor. Moving to a house with no garage and a gravel driveway kills that plan. Probably end up giving the car away for pennies on the dollar and just move on. Thanks to everyone for the their 2 cents. My wife found a house on...

Moving back to MD: Where to live?

Having serious sticker shock... should've stayed here... $2500/mo. ++ to get a house with a garage and decent off-street parking? Then have to carry 2 insurance policies (master and renters) on the property? $200-$500 repair deductibles? WTF? Wow, have things changed back there...

Hurry up and get your .45 ammo...

Well, I'm dumbfounded to say the least. People actually paid $600/case for FMJ ammo. Another online vendor has the same ammo for $409/case and PMC for $370/case. I'm nearly speechless...

      Hogue is pissing me off

I just fondled a 229 with the Hogues at the LGS. Worth every penny if you ask me. My next purchase will be a 226 with those grips.

Moving back to MD: Where to live?

Without getting too personal, you're kind of on to something. The idea was to get my wife back near her family. What happens to me is irrelevant at this point.

A 'tad' is putting it nicely... Something, or someone is high and I don't think it's you. ;)
