      Discolored can

:lol2::lol2: 12 rounds of 45 will push my .45 can to 250-300 when there is no coolant, 600F would easily be attainable by the 2nd or 3rd 30 round magazine in 5.56 rifle. If I was painting a suppressor, I'd go for exhaust header paint.

      .300/221 - .300 Whisper AR questions

But once you get to the heavier bullets there really isnt much extra space, the bullet seats deep, and with such a small shoulder, there isnt much space around it. and all is well  240 SMK's seated at 2.260, and using IMR 4227, with 100% filling according to quick load, its only reach...

      GSG 5?

Unfortunately its not law, its the leaders of the nazi ****stick political action group known as the MD state police interpreting laws however they feel despite that not being their job. Guess they admire the ATF that much, that they make rulings and count it as law, then enforce it on their...

      2 stage triggers for AR-15

+1 on the SSA for a 2 stage trigger As for a good single stage, IVe felt 700's with nice single stage triggers, and 1911's with good single stage triggers. But as you can see in the animation Alucard posted, the safety on an AR stops the trigger from moving, if you have a super crisp singe...

      Perplexing baffle strike issue

On the guns without baffle strikes, put a piece of tape on the end, take a shot, smooth the tape back out and see if the bullet is leaving the endcap centered or is off center in the hole. If they are both off in the same direction, it may be a threading issue with the silencer. Of not, take...

I have one here in harford county, and a gas block wrench too, for holding onto as you torque on the nut.

      Temporary Move to Unfriendly State

There is no such thing as a NFA knowledgable attorney, because the ATF makes up rulings and enforces it as law. You can write a letter to the ATF and get a response, but even then if the ATF changes their mind about something, too bad. For your NFA stuff, you could put all of that in a...

      Legality question?

You anneal the case neck and shoulder. (look at the discoloration on any lake city or other military surplus brass, thats what thats from) If you anneal the case head, then that is softened and weakened, and you could get anything from case head separation, to it flowing back into the bolt...

Is the MSAR the most cost-effective way to get a Steyr AUG?

Help Keeping Scope Insert Shims Put

I'd try the loctite, cheap, only takes 24-48 hours to cure, and a few rounds to test it out. Blue/medium or low strength so its removable of course. If it doesnt work, then try out other more expensive options.

      Legality question?

"The gun worked fine with every other kind of ammunition" and gun manufacturers are pretty quick to blame ammo too, wouldnt want to be you vs remington etc... As for the annealing machine... yeah you could. What if I get some brass from you that you over annealed, and a case head burst in...

      .300/221 - .300 Whisper AR questions

The cyclone is the quietest Ive seen independantly reviewed on a .308 rifle, unsure how it fairs with lower pressures (something designed for low pressure could be better, not sure but with that much volume, its hard to go wrong :D ) Can you turn your gas block down in a 4-jaw chuck? I know...

      Glock frame question

+1 its a receiver, it could be for one of those mech-tech (sp?) carbines, and you could be making a non-regulated long arm.

MSAR Who has one and is happy?

Hooray for a gun company that will send parts instead of making you ship it in for service.

      .300/221 - .300 Whisper AR questions

I prefer going from .223 rather then .221, lot less of a chance of a non-concentric neck, or neck splitting. But trimming all that length is a pain. I'm considering a dillon electric trimmer, so it'll be just running .223 cases up in the die and .300 whisper coming out with no splits. Plus...

      Custom AR-15 Barrel Contour

how long is that blank? only need 16.1 for the title one upper, and 7-10" makes a fine SBR upper length. Same performance as a 16" barrel since your limited on your velocity, and stiffer barrel compared to the long one, so accuracy has the potential to be better.

      Custom AR-15 Barrel Contour

If youre doing just subsonic, then the JP should be fine, the advantage for the switchblock would be super, sub, and off with one twist. Oh and proof loads (:party29: ) or just normal test loads? I have a copy of quickload an I can roughly estimate some chamber pressures for you if you know...
