      About 20 years ago, Browning added a firing pin safety to the Hi-Power. It makes the pistol much safer in cocked and locked then the older pistols. If yours has the safety, I would feel fine in condition one..

      I went through the York County Sheriffs office. First print out the application from their website site, fill it out with necessary info. and mail in. Mine took less then a week and a drive up to York. Be prepared to hear some great jokes about the Md. laws and permits.

      We switched to the new system about three weeks ago. It requires more information then before ( Social Security Number). It seems to be working O.K. I have had a couple of people who had to contact D.N.R. due to the system not accepting the info. provided.

      If a shop were to go around the Md. State police after 7 days and get a Nics number, the form could be disapproved due to a local problem. Now, what do you think is going to happen to the shops license when M.S.P finds the firearm was delivered.

      MSP Benson Barrack

      I have transfered several handuns at Benson and always went great. A friend of mine (Bato. County Police) was told by the trooper on duty when he went to the barracks that ,because he lived in Balto. county, he had to go to a barracks located there. Benson would not do the transfer. Go figure!!

      You are not able to reregister non-regulated long guns. No records are kept other then the original papers at the shop where purchased. You are legal if you are over 18 and not prohibited from owning firearms.
