    Are they any good?

I havent handled one yet. I just ordered one.

I will say I have never had a problem with any M.I. product, but that dont mean this will be flawless.

Its better than the irondot because it has adjustments to remove slop that the Irondot cant without welding and fitting.

Cool. I love the idea, just wasn't familiar with the company.

Samson makes a similar mount as well.

It is a standard rail that allows you to mount optics (I have a Burris Fastfire II on mine), and it has a backup iron sight (a notch) that you can use under the optic. There is no adjustment though, and the one on my Yugo underfolder shoots like 4 feet low at 50m.

I think the MI system looks more compact and has a lower profile.

Ak purists will hate this, but I put this arredondo tower on my saiga and it is the only mount I've ever used on an AK that will hold zero.

i should add that the ultimak rail was pretty good on my MAK, but it will absolutley cook the hell out of your optic.

I've been looking for a reasonably-priced red-dot-type optic for my AK(already have a mount attached to the side rail) basically because I didn't want to spend more for the thing than I did for the rifle. I was considering the Sightmark Ultra-shot which runs about $100 but wonder if this would be comparable.

    Chad,

Have you received it yet? Thoughts after holding it in hand?

Yes it arrived but I havent been able to install it yet.

The item is very well made and finished. The parts that create edges when you adjust it do bother me. After I adjust/bore sight it I wil remove the mount and mill the sides to make it look more like 1 piece instead of multiple.
