Croakers and White Perch were biting, but nothing crazy. I caught 20 or so over several hours, including 6 keeper perch and 2 keeper croakers. They preferred green worms and blood worms over all other lures/baits.

I had no luck crabbing. I tried with dip nets and one regular crab pot. I managed to catch one tiny crab over the whole weekend. I was crabbing in a spot where I've had lots of success before. Maybe it's a bad year or perhaps all the rain changed the pattern.

I've been smashing the rock at love point for the last 2 weeks. Biggest is 33, most are 21-23. Chum the hell out of water 25-32'. I run 8 rods, fish finder rigs, 36'' leader to 4/0 hook and 2oz sinker. Managed to catch a nice 26 free lining when the tide was right. Tide sucked thurs, but still came home with 7. All I have been using are alewives. Nothing on peeler. I watched a guy wreck them on live spot the other night and another guy do ok jigging chartreuse metal and BKDs.

    .
Some were caught trolling and some while anchored after locating the Perch.
    Nice.
The daughter and I pulled 19 white perch from Gunpowder on Sunday in a few hours. Also caught 3 yellow perch and 6 catfish. It was a busy day and all I did was bait and cast rods while she reeled them in. 3 of the catfish were of eating size but we were only fun fishing so everything was thrown back.

I don't know, never had any smoked fish.
These perch are caught in a fresh water reservoir.
It's a real nice tasting white filet.
    Do you smoke any fish?
Got a neighbor who brought me some smoke cured bacon, it was too much smoke tasting for me.

I hate they made the Striper limit 20'' this year. Not that I cant catch them but I just prefer the smallest Striper possible for eating. I think they taste better when small.

While I agree I like the smaller ones better, I love this new limit. The only time I may have a hard time with it is in October when casting HMI. I'll still be able to easily catch my limit I just might have to fish longer. I think this is a great start to helping the population to continue to grow.

ok, too many good fish pictures in this thread, both caught and cooked. Who wants to take me and my son for some real fishing? :toothless

We've gone twice in the last 5 years and never caught anything bigger than my hand:tdown:

I havent yet...I have a bunch in the freezer I need to smoke since I just bought myself an electric smoker...my only worry is I dont get the smell out of it.

I doubt it. You need oily fish mostly like Salmon, bluefish, marlin, tuna is good too.
    Ah makes sense.

White perch were born to swim in "Crysco Bay".....:yummy:

    :D:thumbsup:

Been catching nice bass around 10-15ft. Berkeley realistix jig has been the ticket. For the local lake, and up at loch raven.
