And for those with the prone issue- why don't you just use a 20 rounder when shooting prone?

Because there IS NO PRONE ISSUE. The person who stated this, said IT LOOKED LIKE there would an issue as one of the reasons he would not buy one. He never tried it.

When I tried it recently, with a 30 round mag, the end of the mags was several inches off the ground.

There are several other problems out there with the Tavor that are manifesting themselves if you actually run the gun hard. It really has trouble making it past 200 rounds without a good cleaning/ relubing and will start to have multiple FTE/ FTF at that point.
I'm guessing you're referencing the review of the X95 a new IDF recruit put on M4carbine.net. The author noted that the X95's reliability issues were not, to his knowledge, mirrored in the full-sized Tavor that other soldiers were carrying.

My Tavor didn't seem to run any dirtier than any of my other piston guns. *shrugs*

    Yes, he quoted $350.

Why would IWI Industries not put in the effort Geissele has to quiet complaints about the Tavor trigger?

Was IWI only focused on keeping the MSRP below $2K, with trigger work costing too much?

I would say that they had a perfectly acceptable trigger in it that they designed, tested, and found to be reliable. Every gun has an aftermarket. Why doesn't every company make every part for every gun they sell?

It does more in some ways.

Shorter overall, so faster, easier handling in confined areas (home).

And how often will you go prone in HD situation?

I think as soon as he hears strange noises at hom he goes prone!

The single biggest advantage is the ability to have an SBR without have to go through the rigmarole of acquiring a stamp and all the regulations after with intrastate travel.

Anyways its too late now! I got mine including, an M&M AK, an LWRCI SPR, and a butt load of HKs, Sigs, and Ruger revovlers. Plus a handful of AR lowers to boot. MOM iseone hell of a gun salesman.

You can still get a Tavor in MD. Several IPs are selling MD compliant versions. They swap out a longer flash hider to make it >29" long.

And I have played with one, prone is not a problem, even with a FU MOM 30 round mag. I have not tried a 40 rounder. :)

It is a colt 9mm SMG mag that has been slightly modified....
From the pictures, it looks like a different magazine catch cut. More to the edge of the mag than the Colt. I want to say that it's the same as the Uzi Pro. You can supposedly do this cut and keep it compatible with the original Uzi cut, which the Colt cut has problems with (with the Colt, the upper cut gets caught in the mag release).

That said, the kit is not terribly appealing to me... you've got to swap the rail out from your 5.56x45 barrel, which seems rather annoying to do on a regular basis.

I havent tried taking the barrel out on mine yet but my understanding is you dont need to remove the rail on the 16" model, only tyhe 18" to clear the bayo. That said I hear you, I buy a lot of conversion kits and do very little converting! But 9mm in this would be a spectacular gun (and frankly a very good home defense platform).

What sucks is we now need to meet the 26" rule, or I would have bought a second one and left it in 9mm and used the other stuff for replacement parts.

The 9mm is 17" so its going to need a good 1.5" or so of flashider to be legal on a post "SB281" Tavor.

That said I still have to have this and plan on getting the 18" tavor with its "slightly" longer flashider to maintain compliance if when Duffy's gets an FDE model in and my wallet is fat happen to coincide.
