Similar experience as the OP at Dicks in Westminster. Guy at the counter was cool, idiots working the register wanted driver's license to purchase. They actual told me it was federal law. Morons. Back to Wally for me.

as i like to call them dicks n assholes. the guys behind the gun counter are even worst then bass pro, what a joke. they all stand around and talk total shit and wont help you with anything.they should get a ticket system too. so you can get a ticket and stand around looking at them just looking at you, then they just walk way, never to be seen again. dont get me wrong i do like bass pro but not the gun counter.i refuse to buy anything from dicks.

Holy crap. I just bought a pair of scope covers at the Gaithersburg Dick's and the girl at the register said she needed to see my ID to sell them to me.

Did you drop them and walk out? Sure your credit card doesn't say "see I'd" instead of your signature? Lol

From what I heard that anything from hunting section requires you to show an ID this is company policy.

I have not bought anything yet to verify it. but I am needing some plastic storage boxes for 40 S$W and may get some soon

Is just left Dicks in Glen Burnie. Drivers lisc never came out of wallet. Was cash sale for couple hundred shotgun rounds. Was asked via touch screen if I was a citizen of US. And asked for my DOB, but no proof.

Maybe I've never had a problem there because I look like a 40 year old.

I am glad you had a good experience. EVERYTIME I go the Eldersburg Walmart, there is never anyone at the sporting gods counter. I go over to the automotive counter and they page someone. The one time I waited it took 10 minutes, maybe more. After that I just leave after 4 minutes. Now I never consider that store, but Westminster, Mt Airy and Hampstead Walmarts seem okay.

The Westminster one runs out of .22lr a lot. But they have plenty of shot shells.
Haven't tried the Hampstead one yet.

Same here, just bought some ammo today and was asked for DOB and to confirm citizenship. Never asked for DL. I think this varies from employee to employee and store to store. They should atleast have same standards throughout the corp.

I wonder if I would have been denied to purchase if I had said that I was 14 from palistine?

I agree that policy must vary by cashier and location. It is NOT consistant.

I'm curious what the reply would have been to your "fudged" answers. Dang, knowing Dicks you would have probably got a rebate. LOL

I may have found the point of confusion ... if you don't have your Dick's "Scorecard" with you, they will ask you to confirm who you are for your Scorecard points.

    Don't look for any S&B .380 at Glen Burnie ... :innocent0
