Is there any logic to the days it's open during the week?
I was there Monday last week and the 100yd range was open. It rained the night before.

    Logic? What's that?

Random closures is the title of this thread. I hope soon I can close this thread.

FYI: If you do plan on shooting at 100 yards bring a shovel to find the holes.

The Barnes 100 yard range happened to be open this past Friday as well when I arrived at AGC around noon. Can't speak to the other weekdays this past week as that thing called work has a way of interfering with good times! ;)

Other than the weekend when Barnes 100 yard is sure to be open via agreement, there doesn't seem to be a way to predict whether or not the reclamation crew will be working on any particular weekday. Best guess is that the AGC has no way of knowing in advance either. I sometimes pack a rifle just in the event they've opened Barnes, but I typically figure on using the pistol range now that the crews are finished there when I can get to AGC on infrequent weekdays. Rifles are allowed on the pistol range when Barnes is closed, but then of course you're looking at 50 yards. Have enjoyed the 200 yard side too though, and had it to myself one time recently, so luckily some good options until work is completed.

    10/6/15 up date

On Sunday October 18, 2015 ALL AGC RANGES WILL BE CLOSED from 8am til noon.

    Your CRSO Alex

It would be nice if they had some sort of list of work that they think needs to be done instead of just show up and we'll think of something for you to do.
All ranges being closed on a weekend this time of year just doesn't make sense!

My apologies for going off topic.

I am the EVP of my club and received no information from the AGC as to the type of work to be done though.
