Any insight into where they'll be working tomorrow (7/17)? I'm hoping to get out to the 100 yd range.

Up Date: 7/28/15

They have another processing machine on the property now. If we get a rain storm that leaves the ground wet the next day they will start working the wet impact area of the Pistol Range.

I know that sounds crazy but the machine needed to process the shotgun pellets is moisture sensitive and the machine needed to process bullets is not moisture sensitive.

Yup, when she's wet we will work the bottom. When she's dry we'll take the cover off the mounds and work them real well so she gives us what we want.

This post is strictly about lead reclamation. Nothing to read into here so just move along.

8/9/15 FYI

The equipment has been delivered for lead reclamation of the lower ranges.

Lanes 50 through 58 on the pistol range has been closed.

Some time in the next two weeks work will begin on the lower ranges.

That's all the info I have for now

Tuesday August 18th, 2015

The pistol range is closed for lead removal.

Tonight's Bulls Eye League will be held.

The Pistol Range will reopen Saturday Morning at 9am.

You can shoot Pistols on the 100 yard range as long as your rounds hit the dirt impact area.

I spoke with Alex tonight and have confirmed

the scheduled reactive target shoot hosted by Greenbelt Gun Club

will be held on the pistol range tomorrow evening, Aug 19 as scheduled.

8/30/15 Small Bore ONLY

Limited Use / Restricted Caliber

On 8/30/15 the Barnes Range will be limited to Small Bore shooting only!

Arlington has a 70 lane match on the calendar and the other 30 lanes of the Barnes Range is restricted to small bore only.

The Pistol Range is closed during the week only until they are finish reclaiming the lead.

ALL ranges will be open during the weekends for club events.

Why are we going to be required to park head on at the Barnes Range? I saw the signs in the club house. Everyone's shooting gear is in the trunk or truck bed.

I assume it must be because the AGC thinks that enough people do not know how to back up in tight spots straight. To me it only makes sense if there isn't enough room on the road leading to the parking space and that the parking spaces are also angled. Parking spaces are not even marked, so I do not know why that sign is thought to be required.

Pistol Range closed during the day this week.

Tuesday Night's Bulls Eye League will be held.

The Pistol Range will be reopened for Saturday Morning.

Pistols can always be shot on the Barns Range with targets posted high enough that all rounds hit the dirt impact area.

Barnes Range

9/4/15

After this weekend the Barnes Range will be closed for Lead Reclamation.

We will still be doing Maryland Hunter Qualifications for $10 per Firearm / Bow. You can qualify all day long until one hour before sunset.

When the Barnes Range is closed for the Lead Reclamation Rifle shooting will be allowed on the Pistol Range. (I just verified this with the AGC EVP)

As always, ALL Ranges will be fully operational on the weekends.
