Ballistol is all I use. I use it on the wood stocks, grips etc. I got two bottles mixed at 50/50 water and 10/90 ballistol/water. Safe to use on everything, even cookware.
I cant recommend using steel pins and a tumbler enough. I bought the two drum rock tumbler from Harbor Freight after a discount for about $50 then I bought a 2.5 lb bag of pins from Amazon for about $25. A little water, half teaspoon of lemishine a dash of dishsoap and they look like brand new...
I had a Stoeger Cougar .40 and I regret having sold it. I loved that pistol. It ate every round I threw at it. Mine was in the Inox finish and I didn't have any issues with it. Good luck.
Im by no means a gunsmith but I am aware of cylinder chamfering. I believe a special set of bits are required. Caliber and taper angle are critical. Have you tried doing a search online. I hope you are able to find someone local to you. Good luck.
