I will gladly donate $100.00. A billboard in Annapolis would be great- best spot would be on Rowe Blvd as you drive in. Second would be along Route 50 near Annapolis.

I like this idea...think it needs to go in MoCo, PG, or somewhere other than Annapolis. We need to change hearts and minds and we need to be where the votes are. Let me know when the cash is needed.

Guys, no love from the Billboard agency (never got any responses). Looks like there is good support behind this though judging on the responses, don't want it to stall, but I cant take lead I'm afraid.

Was trying to take some preliminary steps to help out, but have to pass the torch back up

Count me in! Get t-shirts too! Article says anonymous ad buyer. Assume no copyright?

Anonymous means they did not want to be identified.
The image and idea is likely protected by copyright.
I am guessing there is a good chance that a license agreement for usage by a pro-2A group would be reasonably priced.

Maybe contact the ad agency to get the ball rolling?

Didn't mean it as an insult on your vocabulary. Just wanted to be sure you were not making a connection between lack of identity and copyright.

I like the billboard idea and will happily kick in some $$. Would take the ball and run with it myself but my plate is already full with a few other schemes.

I'll contribute a Franklin to the worthy cause.

+1 on putting the billboard where the voters see it and not just the politicians.

Best of luck in coming up with some solid info on how we can move ahead with this project. I couldn't find a local branch of the ad agency but I hope there is a way to make this happen.

Plan D? Not worth the hassle.

Well it will get attention. And it will get moderates to say, yea that's exactly right, I want to join up and fight genocide.;) NO NO NO.

BUT DO IT ANYWAY. I will just sit and watch this time. ;) With luck it will do so much damage that I can sit out 2014 as well, and feel no guilt about it.

How many supporters will you gain? How many will you lose? Which number will be higher ?
Is there a way to gain new supporters without losing the ones we have?

You will lose me. That is a fact.

I think people are more offended that people are bringing up atrocities our government committed and then just refocusing that to people who openly oppose gun control. if they wanted to make it offensive the slogan should be "turn in your arms you'll get a casino out of it". People have a habit of forgetting history if it leaves a bad taste in their mouth. Wounded knee started over an Indian who refused to turn over his rifle to the Calvary.

So you are okay with forgetting that piece of American history?

Good question. But the wrong one to ask. I am not the moderate you need to reach.

I am an armed citizen. I know well the lessons of history, and I am a Jew so I know well even more lessons of history.

How do we reach those who will at best see that sign, shrug, and say, that was then, this is now? I can tell you the' can't happen here crowd' will never hear you. Then the antis will spin it.

So can we start with an anti crime message perhaps. Can we look at home invasion and rape, and gang violence and say "The police are heros, but the are human. They will do all they can to protect your family what will you do in the 10 minutes it takes them to get there'

Much harder to spin. Harder to ignore because it is in the here and now. And who does not want their family safe.

Might we start with this before we get to genocide?

I am an armed citizen. My eyes are open. Now we must open theirs but without sending them into shock and more importantly denial.

The following clip is a visceral illustration of how gun control can play out in a home invasion scenario: High Capacity Magazine PSA.

One thing I will note, though, is that some people will howl that you are being offensive no matter what you do or say, so long as you are not agreeing with them. Meanwhile, they will rationalize away the fact that the President and his allies in Congress have been cynically waving the bloody shirt for almost half a year. There's a difference between alienating and offending the people who pray every night that Obama drone-strikes every last "bitter clinger" and driving off the people who might conceivably be allies.

One thing to consider is that the moderates are not being swayed by the foolish parade of gun victims. The press ate it up but the public opinion briefly blipped and fell back to baseline.

If we are to learn from our opposition we must be sure not to just assume that they are wining. For example the gun control bill that was definitely going to pass in the Senate.

So lets just do what we do best--- out think them.

The first victory is always in the mind.--We must stop thinking that we can not win unless we cheat or ape the dishonorable behavior of the opposition.
