Once I read the first post, I had to open my safe and see if there was any "gun violence" going on. Everything was quiet inside.
Then again, I am not sure what gun violence is. I'll check the safe again in a little while.

    Who quits a winning team?

No, you quit a losing team, or be fired.

This great EL1227 video remix of our original shows that Spinny Vinny has lost the fire in the belly, and is not there to scold us, but to buy our artwork.

That wasn't his only SNAFU ... remember this from last year.

Meh - we chased off Leah Barrett and we'll break these two down as well.

Vinnie is a paid professional - these two are wide-eyed idealists and they will soon go back to their fruit roll ups and poopy drawers once they figure out that they've run up against us and we're not budging.

    :lol::lol2::lol:

I'm guessing that they get their 'political motivations' dominating their significant others and would rather relegate 'fruit roll ups and poopy drawers' to Hubby, so they can go play 'power broker' in Nap'Town.

You certainly have a way with words.

Maybe they'll go the same route as the cat lady...... :D

Someone needs to post the augmented pictures.

Stroller mom wine box party after every defeat...

....except for Erin The Grandma above, who needs fiber drinks to keep her regular.

    LOL; thanks! Makes my morning.

And there we go...makes me laugh every time, guaranteed.

Their hubby's probably are 1) gun owners and 2) probably take duty for the kids to get them out of their hair.

Peace & quite has its costs...

Roger that EL. There are now two wispy husbands somewhere who will be doing a lot more purse-holding for their Head of Household mates.

Are you aware that MPGV is a non-profit 501(c)4? Their "Education Fund" is a 501(c)3 non-profit.

Less than 4% of these organizations pay their board of directors anything. The expectation is that people volunteer on these boards to serve a "cause".

Until I see otherwise, Spinny Vinny appears to have lost a meager paycheck as President and will now receive NO paycheck as Chairman.

I hope one of our accounting wizards can weigh in on us.

Either way, his departure after the 2016 Clean Sweep that smothered ALL gun bills is a stinging personal--and very public--defeat for him.

Of course I, too, hope that it's a demotion; am merely presenting an alternative interpretation. There is something fundamentally deceitful and untrustworthy about any person or organization who says, "Nobody's trying to take your guns away from you," when you know da*n well they are, they just left the word "yet" from the end of their sentence.

And not detracting from this year's great achievements R&R, as you know. It's just that these people never stop, they just change their names, tactics, and semantics to keep the opposition off balance and win with emotion and razzle dazzle instead of substance.

I don't appreciate seeing the suggestion that Vinny may have gotten a big cash bonus and a "promotion" when you don't have facts. What purpose do you have muddying the waters without researching it?

We don't let them up for air, do we?

Vinny the spineless troll stepping down.
    Update

We have been making some big changes here at Marylanders to Prevent Gun Violence (MPGV)! I am pleased to announce that after almost four years together (since our founding in 2013 to pass the life-saving Firearm Safety Act), I am stepping aside as President to become Chairman of the Board. I am thrilled that our two terrific new leaders, Jen Pauliukonis and Liz Banach, will take over daily leadership of the organization as President and Executive Director. They both come to MPGV with experience from a national organization, Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, and are dedicated to MPGV’s mission of reducing gun violence across our state and country.

We had a big win this legislative session by keeping an extreme gun rights advocate off the Handgun Permit Review Board. This citizen board, appointed by the Governor and approved by the State Senate, decides on appeals of concealed-carry permits after they have been denied by the Maryland State Police. This victory came because of members like you. During our lobbying efforts, we heard from Senate office after office that your emails and calls were constantly streaming in! We will continue monitoring the board to ensure that the remaining board members make their decisions based on Maryland law and not their own personal philosophy!

Unfortunately, the legislative session also ended without a single gun violence prevention law passing. Although we can be proud of having some of the strongest gun violence prevention laws in the country, with over 300 gun deaths in Baltimore last year, it is clear there is still work to be done. We need your voice and support to continue to fight for sensible gun violence prevention laws, close loopholes, and strengthen enforcement.

Under Jen and Liz’s new leadership, Marylanders to Prevent Gun Violence will become an even stronger and more effective grassroots organization committed to reducing gun deaths and injuries in our state.

In honor of our great new leadership and momentum we are offering our supporters LOCALLY PRINTED MPGV LOGO TEES! If you make a donation of $100 or more by April 30th, we'll ship you one of these high-quality shirts to proudly share our important message of reducing gun violence.

I have tremendously enjoyed and been inspired by my time as President of Marylanders to Prevent Gun Violence. You are all terrific supporters! As your Board Chair, I promise to continue to join you in doing all we can to save lives from gun violence in Maryland.

Thank you for your passion and continued support!

So, the above highlighted sentence is how the other side gains ground and members, they talk up any and every small win as if it were a major victory. We need to do the same and build on the small victories. We had one last year and we had one this year and yet there are still people in the firearms community that don't get it, and complain about "how is preventing further infringements, and repealing fingerprints for renewals a victory?" We didn't lose our rights over night, we aren't going to gain them back over night either.

And if you will notice the 2nd highlighted sentence, they play to their loss as well to turn out more folks.

We have started to take small steps to win our rights back, IT IS MAKING A DIFFERENCE and WE ARE STARTING TO WIN.

These were my thoughts too. Ol' Vinny sucked that well dry. And thanks to a very popular republican governor and a failed Firearms Saftey Act circa 2013 he needs fresh meat.

He did the same with Health Care for All, turned it over to Matt Celentano for day to day operations. Vinnie has a day job, MPGV and HCA were ways for him to make additional money on the side.

Not sure where they get their money since neither organization has a way to become a member. I am guessing behind the scenes donors.

It won't play as well in the media, chasing young mothers around the Statehouse. I'd say it's a good move on the opposition's part, counting on a chivalrous attitude from our side.

As to Vinnie, Bloomberg probably saw that he was limping around with his gonads dangling from someone's rearview mirror - was it yours? - and decided he needed to find a more effective shill. So Vinnie is presumably exploring other alternatives, with a door bruise on his posterior.

    Well, bye.

Bloomberg hasn't been a part of MPGV, they bought their own lobbyist in Maryland this year, and even sent a regional director from Everytown, to speak on the terror watch list bill in the Senate. As for the young mother's, that just makes it that much easier to make them out to be callous towards victims of domestic violence overtime they want to prevent them from utilizing their state issued carry permits to protect themselves. As a matter of fact, the other side has already started to change the discussion and use suicides as the talking point and string to pull to get the emotions going.

So DeMarco had to fall on the Bloomberg sword, huh?

Targeting Jurgena isn't even a victory for them, but that's how they have to spin it.

    THIS!!!

They take every small success and use it to boost their goals, as well as build on that small success. We need to do the same thing, but without as much spin.
