I went after the Patriot Picket and met a buddy and his wife, she was looking for her first handgun.

Frankly I was very disappointed and a little shocked at the misinformation spewed and the unsafe gun handling by multiple vendors.

Yeah, I was the dick who made a big deal to Linda about making sure the gun she was just handed was safe because the guy working the booth just picked it up and gave it to her. :sad20:

Certainly not many deals on new guns and I didn't see any subsonic .22 so other than shooting the bull with Shafted the show was just meh to me....

True dat, won't be the same without Lou there. Even though I rarely spoke to him at the shows since he was busier than a dog with two peckers.

Last few shows I saw him, I had to wake him up to harass him.

Now wishing I had picked up a Mini 14 from him, and maybe a Glock, just to have one.

At least 3 vendors had CCI Quiet-22. Which is seriously subsonic (750 FPS range). One was $39.95, the other was $40, and the last was $45, all prices per brick.

Also several people have CCI Standard, which is also subsonic (1050 FPS).

And CCI Standard will cycle my 10/22 with the can.

Me and the Mrs. renewed NRA memberships; we each got our approx. 500th NRA hat and free admittance to the show.
Went looking for a Henry lever action .22 but came up short as I wanted a very specific wide loop version called an Evil Roy. No one selling Henrys had seen one.
Wandered around for a while looking for whatever...
Bought a bag of nuts from the nut lady at the exit.
Maybe the Chantilly show will have some nifty stuff.
    Good show HoCo!

There is a vendor with no sign, about halfway back, with two large loop Henrys... Don't know if they're what you're looking for, but hey...

Guess I should have looked but I just assumed I didn't have to. Thanks TomKat for the half empty pack of primers. Other than that I picked up some primer, Lee dies, and pmags. Nice show and everyone was very helpful. Word of advice.... check the primer packs. Oh well it's too late to turn around now.

I really really want to laugh at this but I just feel bad. That sucks!!! I agree with you though you shouldn't have to look, your not inspecting a gun. PM them and I am sure they will do something to make it right. That's pretty annoying though! It's funny how that is split dead in the center.

He grabbed some primers at the last minute at my request. Remember, his primary business is reloading. This was just a mistake on his part. Can we give him the benefit of the doubt before we string him up? Send him a PM. He'll make things right. He's a good man. It's more of a laughing matter than anything else. Great opportunity do do some ball-busting.

That's all I was doing. Just some ball busting. I'm not really sweating the $1.50 for a half a pack of primers. He was very nice and helpful to a new reloader with some good advice. Maybe my sarcasm didn't come through on my original post....... next time I'll check though. Haha

I apologize...I grabbed stuff out of my safe at 5 am on the way to show and didn't check....primers were an afterthought...I will make it up to you by replacing it with 2 packs of bench rest primers at the next show you attend,or if you stop by my shop,or if you live within ten min of colesville/cleverly I will drop them off.

Great show but I managed to leave with more cash than I came with. I didn't make it two minutes into the building before some sucker bought a Mosin M44 from me :D

Otherwise I purchased some CCI standard velocity and some low recoil 00 buck for my barely legal shotty that I recently made. I was looking for a little scabbard for it but didn't find anything, I'll prolly get a tennis racquet bag for it instead.

Had a great time! Most decent priced .22lr I've seen in a lovey long time!
