Don't think I've ever seen them.I know lettuce is an early season crop, but anywhere I can get some starts that anyone knows about in Frederick/Carrol county? Wanting to do a little more succession planting so we can have some throughout the season.
You put seed in the dirt. Tiny things they are too!I know lettuce is an early season crop, but anywhere I can get some starts that anyone knows about in Frederick/Carrol county? Wanting to do a little more succession planting so we can have some throughout the season.
test the soil? PH at least. Let the grass/weeds die and till again. Till deep and slow. My soil is better year 2.I finally rented a rototiller and tilled up a 24x34 area. Added peat moss and compost and tilled it again.
Thinking about covering the space with black plastic for a while then plant stuff. I have several zucchini, tomato and squash plants growing in containers.
What should I do next?
Nice garden! Looks similar in size.
I have a probe I put in to test wetness and PH. It it show dry I will water with an impact sprinkler. I think that give best coverage. Yes, my garden size it about the size of yours.Nice garden! Looks similar in size.
I need tomato cages.
How often do you water?
Get a few yards of comp pro or mushroom compost and til that in with the second tilling. I covered my whole garden in the heavy duty ground cloth years ago and cut slots for planting. Best thing I ever did, weeding is non-existent.I finally rented a rototiller and tilled up a 24x34 area. Added peat moss and compost and tilled it again.
