Traded my wheel gun for a glock.
Got a mossy 590a1 for the house with buckshots in.
Don't need to bother with a pistol for the home...but have the Glock just in case...wanting a 1911 as well.

I trust any of my guns to go bang when the trigger is pulled. I prefer the 1911 in .45acp because it makes a big hole going in and I don't have to worry about it going thru the wall of my house and the neighbors. I have had 1911's for almost 40 yrs and can run one without conscious thought. Even so, there is nothing like the sound of the slide of an 870 being racked that tells an intruder that they really messed up.

Any gun that requires that it be clean and lubed to function is not reliable.

Personally, I conceal carry a semi-auto and will open carry a revolver on occasion.

My guns "don't require cleaning" to be reliable. I require my guns to be clean. I have shot firearms that haven't been cleaned in 80-90 years. However, I wouldn't want to trust them in a SD situation.
