The G3 has a couple of things going against it.
1. Not as popular as AK, therefore things will tend to be more expensive.
2. Although it's stamped sheet metal, it's still German, and HK, and all that that entails.
IMHO, the stamped AK receivers were engineered with low skilled workers...
The HK21 charging handle is my next part. Looks way easier to grab ahold of.
I also just received the C-Tree port buffer. I haven't used it yet, but I am looking forward to brass not going 30 or 40 feet down range.
So, in other words, it may be all you, all the rifle, or some combination thereof. From your comments, it would seem the latter.
Check to make sure that there are no mechanical issues. Loose in the stock, wore out barrel, bad muzzle, loose sights. Putting a scope on something that has a...
Does it group at all?
If not, make sure both action screws are tight. Before I got a de-humidifier, the cycling between summer and winter would loosen them up.
Missed you the first time around. I didn't see that Numrich had them when I bought mine. I got one from RobertRTG.
Buy things from HK parts net only if you cannot find them elsewhere. Crazy expensive on most things.
All Hail Francis Bannerman, Lord of the Mystery Put-Together, King of the Bubbas, to which all aspire!
A very cool find yellowsled. When I see an older sporteization of a Mosin, I always check to see if it's a Bannerman. Never any luck so far.
Amazing what the market will come up with to...
I don't frequent this part of the forum too much, but I'll throw in my 2 cents.
1. It may cost more to convert than buying a new rimfire revolver, unless there are conversion kits and/or a well know process to do the conversion.
2. Some of those old "junk" guns can be worth money in...
What do you really want to do with it?
If it's a collectors piece that you might compete with occasionally or informally, get a service grade.
If you want to use it seriously, get a special grade. You can put a modern finish on the wood, bed it, NM parts, dick with the handguard and stuff...
HK factory crap. Not that it's actual crap, just 5x the price it should be, typical HK. They're kind of like apple that way.
Much more better (but still pricey):

A bunch here too...
Yeah, I pulled the trigger today on a P-64. UPS Second Day Air. It should be here Wednesday or Thursday. Never ordered from Wideners before, so I don't know exactly how fast they are.
Here, make your own decision. Downloaded from CIP. Dimensional differences are very small, but they are there. It seems to be accepted that "D" marked barrels are good to go with actual Russian ammo. Anything else, it's up to you.
