      NFA QUESTION

We were discussing short barrel rifles...well class 3 stuff in general at work. A few of the guys told me that if you have a class 3 tax stamp that give the government the ability so search your weapons without a warrant. Is this true? It sounds insane to me but if its true it will absolutely...

      M1917 Enfield Question

Really need to find a new bolt assembly for a 1917 enfield. Won't pass headspace. I doubt its the barrel (at least I hope not) because it easily passed when I checked it with a barrel gauge indicating to me that the barrel isn't excessively worn. I'm new to the whole milsurp world. Is my...

Could an incorrect bullet weight cause a bullet to tumble at 25-30 yards

basically i just told the guy to recrown the gun. it didnt cost very much anyway. it was probably half the issue. i plan on trying out heavier bullets with slower burning powders and simple ball ammo. if that doesnt fix it i ll just put a new barrel on it. i picked up the gun for so cheap...

Could an incorrect bullet weight cause a bullet to tumble at 25-30 yards

I had some previous posts on here about a winchester model 1917. i took it to the range and it was shooting horribly with about 25 percent actually tumbling and making a bullet shaped silhouette in the target. Everyone thought it was the crown or headspacing or something with the gun. I took...

      another winchester m1917 question

im taking it to a gunsmith today. i really like this gun. ive got to get it working right. im absolutely going to try a different bullet. im probably going use this as an excuse to finally get in to reloading.

      another winchester m1917 question

here's a thought....where can i just find a new barrel. the freaking barrel on this thing is CAI. the same company that turns out cheap ak imports. if i could find a better barrel maybe that would be a better course of action rather than repairing a low quality barrel.

      another winchester m1917 question

i think the crown is jacked up. i took a bullet and jammed it in pretty hard. hard enough to make a mark in the jacket of the bullet. there is a significant gap in the spacing of the marks. i assume thats the worn spot. i also assume this is whats causing the problem. if the gasses arent...

      another winchester m1917 question

alright i just took my winchester m1917 out to the range for the first time today and i was very disappointed. I was using ballistic tip hunting loads that i picked up from the same show i bought the gun. they were 150 grain bullets that were supposed to be going 2800 fps. i would have used...

      M1903 stock clean up question

it is truly a m1917. the rear sight is totally different than the 1903 and the stock has what they call a partial pistol grip. initially i thought it was a 1903 because they are similar looking especially the front 3/4. I just thought it was a 1903 that was made by winchester during the war...

      M1903 stock clean up question

well mine is a winchester with numbers in the 300,000. will that be fine? I guess technically its not an m1903 but rather the m 1917. close enough for me.

      M1903 stock clean up question

I just picked up an m1903 at a gunshow. its in great shape but i would like to clean up the stock a little bit. I dont want to do a full refinish because I like the look of the original finish and all the little nicks and scratches. But I would like to do something to give it a little love...

      A few Galil Questions....

naaahhh. the gas tube is straight. i took the front sight off and looked at it. i can make the front sight straight it only gets messed up when i torque down the screws that are responsible for sight adjustment. it seems that there is too much play in the dove tail in which the front sight...
