Permit holders are something like 4-6x more law-abiding as a population than LEOs.

The 2A is not a second class right. It is not subject to carve outs.

This fat guy wants all of his [gun rights] cake back.

Too many of us it's a slap in the face. You're not good enough to carry but the LEO (current, retired or no longer working in LE) are okay. How is that the constitution being applied equally and fairly to everyone?

Well, to me this is start.
I disagree. I do not support carve outs of any kind. They do nothing for us. They are there to divide 2a supporters into haves and have nots and it works really well. Lots of leo's buy into this and think they should be able to carry because they are somehow better than other citizens and they dont care about us losing rights as long as they keep theirs. I've heard that first hand.

    No carve outs.

Oppose this and any other such measure. Leosa never helped me or any other non LE. We had to fight the onerous burdens and kiss the ass of cops in interviews (those of us that carried pre bruen) so they *might* deign to allow us the privilege.

"You don't need to carry in such and such place, LEO and retired LEO can already carry there so it will make it more unsafe letting anyone conceal carry. More guns equal more violence."

When LEOSA was in the concept phase, I donated quite a few dollars to the endeavor. The pledge was that once LEOSA was obtained, there would be a push to help civilians get carry permits. As far as I know, not a dime was expended in our behalf.

Carving out special exemptions or privileges for certain groups is not acceptable. Guess America has forgotten about liberty and justice for ALL.

Nope. Not in favor of this at all.

    Fvck those carve outs.

A retired law enforcement officers life and their families lives are just as important to them as mine is to me.

I should have the same ability to protect myself and my family as they do.

You answered a question with a question. Irritating them is a minor thing. LEOSA didn’t help us.
If anything it hurt the common man.

The antis were able to point to it and say "it adds extra police on the streets" so citizens don't need to carry.

Carve outs are BS. In the strictest sense of the law, even carve outs for violent felons are BS. If they are safe enough to be on the street, they should be able to carry (they do now anyway without regard to the law). Otherwise these criminals should be in jail if you can't trust them to behave.

In short, Sen. John Kennedy (R-La.) introduced the Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act (LEOSA) Reform Act, which would expand the concealed-carry rights of qualified law enforcement officers. (before you grip and start cop bashing, this bill could allow the camel nose into the tent so to speak). This would help make Americans safer by expanding concealed-carry rights for off-duty and retired cops in public places. The Act builds on the original LEOSA of 2004, which gives qualified officers—whether active, retired or no longer working in law enforcement—the right to carry concealed firearms in any U.S. state or territory, with the requirement to obey state or local laws.
The LEOSA Reform Act would expand the original bill by allowing qualified officers to carry their concealed firearms in the following locations:
    • State, local and private property otherwise open to the public,
    • National parks, and
    • Certain federal public access facilities and
    • School zones.
The bill would also allow qualified officers to carry magazines that are not prohibited by federal law and to carry their concealed firearms in gun-free school zones. It would alleviate other undue burdens on concealed-carry rights. If this passes, I believe it will help make it easier to carry allow all to carry if they desire and have at least the basics of firearm and proper use of force training. Sens. Thom Tillis (R-N.C.) and Rick Scott (R-Fla.) have co-sponsored the LEOSA Reform Act. Original Article maybe found here.

“The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.” covers this already. We all should have the ability to carry arms in all places.

He's proving he believes in pig theory. That some people are more equal.
He's just another Democrat who doesn't believe in equal protection of the laws.

With the requirement to obey state and local laws...

I fairly certain that state and local governments that want to allow this already do and those that don't won't..with that requirement it's a pretty toothless law.
