Same here hopefully tomorrow or hopefully I wake up and it’s approved.Wish I was one lol
8/3 hereWhat’s your accepted date? I’m 8/24 so I got a while.
I would drive from my home with the gun in a case in the truck, unloaded. Get one block into Delaware, pull over, load everything up and go on my way. Coming home was the exact opposite. Today was the first time I left my house with loaded handgun on me ready to go. It was truly a joy.You did that before? No thanks.. that’s just not worth it to me.
I feel this, I left my home state of MD 8 years ago. Carrying daily for 8 years up here and having to disarm every time I come home to visit both sides of mine and my wifes family is frustrating to say the least. And having two young children, we travel to see family frequently. I cant wait to legally carry, where I grew up and never dreamed i'd be able to.. (its something I never thought my children would even be able to do).I would drive from my home with the gun in a case in the truck, unloaded. Yes, the training is good for two years and this is a viable strategy. As of right now at least.Interesting thought I had today. I saw this line on the MSP site regarding training.
“As of October 1, 2013, all new, renewal, and subsequent applicants must successfully complete required firearms training, within 2 years, prior to submitting the application.”
Could we get our training in for renewal 1 year and 11 months ahead of schedule to avoid the rush? Of course, requirements could change before then.

This is true. If nothing else, to avoid a rate hike and larger class sizes. There won’t be too bad of a “rush” because everyone’s permits expire on their birth month, not the month they were issued.
No. They renew in your birthday month. It will spread it out.The fun comes in 2 to 2.5 years when 40k worth of permits needs to be renewed all at the same time!
You apply 90 days in advance. By Statute they have 90 days to make a decision. Got that covered…They would be wise to do like other states and let you apply for renewal 6 months in advance, and they just Have to approve or deny before your current one expires
Not by much though… considering the number of applicants will still be high for a while. Until instructors can get the vast majority trained. Then you have the renewal classes. Thankfully as an instructor I don’t have to take the classes or renewal that makes it easy for me.No. They renew in your birthday month. It will spread it out.
I know that… I’m an instructor… but if you had 6 months. It would be spread out over a little more time, and it would give them more time to process. You apply 90 days in advance. By Statute they have 90 days to make a decision. Got that covered…
Lol, me tooWish I was one lol
But the wait time will not matter since the old permit will be good as long as you have applied for renewal. Was thinking, imagine in 2-3 years we’ll be doing the same waiting game on renewal.
Nah....the use of birthdate to renew will broaden the distribution and timing of renewalsWas thinking, imagine in 2-3 years we’ll be doing the same waiting game on renewal.
