Crab cakes? How do you eat them; on a sandwich with mayo, lettuce and tomato? On a plate with French fries? Maybe on a plate with macaroni salad or something else?

I know this sounds crazy, but I love a good crab cake with Geresbeck's macaroni salad. I can eat that all day, every day. For those who don't know about Geresbeck's, it is a semi famous small grocery store in Middle River. Not so much for the groceries, but for their bakery and most definitely for their deli bar. Their salads are purchased in gallon containers for the holidays. Their shrimp is so good, you have to wait for 10-12 customers in front of you on holidays. They have the ever famous Coddies (Cod fish cakes). When I go, I will usually buy a half of a gallon of their macaroni salad and 6 Coddies.

So, how do you eat your crab cakes?
They have a store in Glen Burnie, too.

On Baltimore Annapolis Blvd. just north of Mountain Road.

    Great shrimp, and cheap too!!

I had to go to Cambridge yesterday, so I stopped at Cool Ice to pick up a pint of "errsters" for my wife. They expect some local crabs in about 3 weeks.

I eat my crabcakes on a burger bun, topped with Goulden's spicy brown mustard and a coating of JO's #1 seafood seasoning. If I'm eating out, I get fries if from a carry out or corn on the cob at restuarant.

Best Mac and any other Deli Salad used to be from Angel’s Food Market on Mountain Rd in the ‘Dena. Have stopped by in a few years so don’t know about recently.

Salads from the Laurel Dutch Market are pretty good too and I have had those recently

In attempt to merge with Best Pit Beef thread, Jake's Grille (up on Falls Road past Padonia Road) besides having phenomenal pit beef, has some of the best mac and cheese I've ever had. (Stay well Rack!)

I love their coddies! I miss living on that side of town but do stop by when over there for a half dozen!

This is how we lose folks. Having been a part of MSI for a while now, we can send an email out and get people demanding we be more aggressive and at the same time people complaining that we went too far. We all have differences of opinions on how to fight the 2A fight. I might not like everything PP does, but you won't find me bashing them for it. They can do things MSI can't (and vice-versa). Find a group that espouses your views and support them, get involved, DO SOMETHING. Sitting behind a keyboard and attacking the folks that aren't doing it YOUR WAY, doesn't help anyone. To all of the guys that are "out", I say goodbye, and I wish you the best in your fight for the Second Amendment! I can only hope you all will take your lumps and come back.

People are a little thin skinned. Part of "adulting", as kids these days love to say, is learning to let things roll off your back. There are always going to be people you don't like and who don't like you. Nobody is really bashing Jeff. What happened to him happened because of the forum rules. Some folks act like we are treading on sacred ground.

I think it's rather demeaning to pack this thread with BS about recipes and so forth.

Jeff has done a lot for 2A in MD, and brought national attention to our issues, not once but several times. However abrasive his attitude toward those he felt were doing more harm than good with their posts, actions and attitudes, no one can deny his single-minded devotion to our common cause.

I fully agree with the good Doctor that there's a lot of thin-skinned folks around. Hurt feelings reports must clog the Mod inboxes. Too bad he got banned, in the last week or two of the GA session.

Gambler better watch his step. Outspoken activism apparently offends a lot of the more sensitive souls.

I think the fact that the thread devolved is an honor to Jeff, as that is MDS standard operating procedure. We didn't stick with only praise, or attacks, we quickly went to cul de sacs, and crabs. :)

    As for the bolded:

Seems Norton's and a lot of other people's point went over your head. It is not about outspoken activism that offends a lot of individuals. It is the manner in which one's opinion is given. As individuals we are all entitled to our opinion. Yes, I absolutely agree that Jeff did indeed get into headlines on occasion. He provided another way at attacking the Anti-gun folks. But Jeff was warned, not once, not twice, but three times. He was then given a temp ban. When he came back he went right back at it. The fault lies with him. Him and no one else. He really needs to stop and think sometimes.

What I find odd is that Rack continued with exactly the same wanton disregard for the rules after being banned repeatedly for doing so, almost as if he wished to be permabanned.

Agree, and I hate to see that because I think he is a great guy personally, and appreciate what he does.

That's fully incorrect. Actually, at the risk of being flamed, it's the opposite of what happened. People who dared to question the methods or message were called disparaging names, told they were "worse than the enemy" and so forth.

    He got himself banned,... period.

In Bob's defense, he's not talking about Norton or other mods. He's referring to people reporting posts when there is a call to get involved. Sometimes these calls haven't been tactful (by enthusiastic folks, not necessarily R&R), and this has rubbed other folks the wrong way. I'm pretty sure this is what Bob was writing in his response to Gambler.
