You should stop and consider that maybe they are doing what their constituents want. Even the "Republican" ones. Just saying.

Mine flat fvckin lied to me and everyone down here

As Steve Waugh said “ they” told him to ban-bump stocks or risk getting voted out in your district, his response to them” I would be far better off voting no and making a tv commercial shooting a bump stock if I want to keep my job” paraphrasing from memory

Maybe others don’t speak to their reps and tell them what the want and expect of them but I am not those people

Very hard for some to realize.
Yes, but then we shouldn't try to dissuade 2A supporters from withdrawing their support from candidates that have made this political calculation. The cake's already baked, and if their constituents already support them, they won't be hurt by the loss of 2A supporters that chose not to.

this, i'm hoping we haven't seen the big picture yet but please give us hint at least.

Deb didn’t explain it you yet? Me either.

Steve did and I posted his response somewhere

The republicans are scared shitless and not responding because of it. Down here they need republicans to vote for them and give them money and they aren’t talking, except for Steve, because they’re scared period.

Write the Republican Critters who voted against this bill and ask them to submit a re@ch @round amendment.

If we're going to get f**ked, we should get something out of it.

It passed the House of Delegates and is currently sitting in the Senate Judicial Proceedings Committee where it received a second public hearing on Friday, 23MAR2018. It awaits further action there as of the posting of this message. The Chairman indicated that "they have to pass something" and will be working on the bill within the next several days to include any additional amendments/changes that JPR wants to make.

No, he's wrong. He shouldn't feel that they "have to pass something."

Passing "something" might do more harm than good.

They didn't campaign, or get elected to do "something." They're expected to exercise sound judgment, and that includes refraining from doing the wrong thing.

If only politicians were bound by the physicians Hippocratic Oath: "First, do no harm."

fair point, but if you make it a voting issue and then lose, its that much worse the next time (which there will be a next time). Being in the minority, we have to use guerilla tactics. Bump stocks and machine guns are hard for a politician to defend. Even Republican ones. Not even Scalia went there in Heller.

Picking a fight on bump stocks (then losing) will leave the impression our numbers are small for other issues later on (like HQL repeal, or CCW), which they are not.

I'm saying hold politicians accountable. Here they're even avoiding explanation. It's March, not October. If you don't voice your displeasure and threaten to act on it, the politician will worry about the others that do.

Ps. This is the red flag legislation bill thread, right?

You can write them and ask for the Chocolate Cookie recipe, but if they're not responding, what are you supposed to do?

That's all I want. Contact me, don't ignore me. Letters mailed, emails send, calls to office and cell phones. Nothing, nada, zilch.

Lived in MoCo 57 years. Have never had to worry about voting in a 2A related sense. Single issue voting has never plagued me. I can't recall any politician I've voted for that I agree with totally. As Ed Koch said once if you agree with everything of who you vote for, see a psychiatrist.

Pretty simple who I choose. Less government, taxes and more Liberty. I can't recall ever voting for anyone who has professed more gun control between the choices available.
