I don't know about MD in 5. I will say that if the next Uvalde or Sandy Hook happens when Dems have the WH, House and Senate, they WILL propose a constitutional amendment to strike the 2A.

Absent outright bans, I expect taxes, training requirements, storage requirements, insurance requirements, prohibition of sale of powder for reloading and a constant barrage of trial balloon legislation.
    Correctamundo.
with the current crop of progressive, socialist, near communist Obama worshipping, America hating, communist loving, racist (they come in different colors), who consider themselves the ruling elite class running the Md government over us, there will be a very short supply of help in the Md legislature.
Tax free WV is looking better every day, for a lot of reasons.

Bianchi will be decided, and they will then pass something even worse, that will then take another 10 years and a small fortune to be also ruled unconstitutional.

That's their plan! Will they succeed?
I've heard from some prominent Dems in the State that they are planning at this point to do "whatever it takes" to get this passed...

But we banned assault weapons already…

I have to ask - what have you heard that we haven’t? And did they sound like they have a convincing plan, or were they just virtue-signaling as always? I’m sure that there are plenty of legislators in MGA who wish that they could, but with Bianchi in hot water at 4th Circuit right now, and SCOTUS starting to turn their attention to state AWBs, they’re unlikely to poke the tiger right now.

As for me: I personally don’t think that we’ll ever see another AWB at the national level again. Even if the Dems take the White House and Congress next year, AND SCOTUS has turnover, we’re still assuming that they’ll re-litigate the Heller and Bruen decisions. Waiting for changes in the three branches of government is not a winning strategy for the gun controllers.

To me the answer to this question is all based on SCOTUS. If they can win the election in 2024 and find a way to change the makeup of the SCOTUS, then we are f^$%&%^d.
We are only FU*KED if you plan to comply. I see the state going full retard and not only banning sales but possession..that's going to cause issues with some people...others will be tripping over themselves to turn them in...

Good. Let them go full retard and get this crap thrown out once and for all.
In the meantime, I'll do whatever it takes to ignore their unconstitutional bullish*t.

Worst case, that could happen shortly after the 2024 election. If Dems keep the White House, hold the Senate (w/o Manchin and Sinema to block killing the filibuster), and retake the House, there's nothing to stop them from stacking the Supreme Court by adding 4 or more liberals.

And making DC and Puerto Rico states to ensure their future hold on the Senate.
Been hearing this for years. They could've already killed the fillibuster but didn't.

yep that seems to be the M.O. before anything unconstitutional gets stricken down though, we're felons or at least seriously restricted or hamstrung in the meantime.

    Lol.

I remember reading on here every year someone named “defense rifle” or something would reply with the same shtick.

According to his high level “contacts “ all hope was lost, this year is the big one, etc. Literally nothing, year after year.

Hopefully that user reads this and gets butthurt.

The dirty little secret is that more people are purchasing firearms now then ever before, and they are not republicans.

Annapolis has and will continue to be thinking and legislating based on unicorns and rainbow’s but the populace are more realistic. Not sure how that conundrum will pan out in future MD politics.

    Free?? State
Laws mean nothing when they cannot be enforced, that should be evident and take priority over making new laws.

Ah, so in other words, this guy is probably the latest in a series of Russian trolls trying to stir up gullible true believer types?

Yep, this is what I've been saying for years. I think that we're already starting to reach the point with AR-15s that we reached with handguns 40 years ago: So many people own them that they're no longer able to be banned, because legislators who vote for a ban will have to choose between virtue-signaling in the short term and losing their jobs in the long-term. That may still work in some states (MD sadly being one of them) for now, but it won't for much longer. And despite FSA 2013, there are more AR-15 owners in MD now than there were before.

There’s estimated upwards of twenty million (or more) AR-type rifles and carbines in private hands in this country. If that doesn’t qualify as being in the “common use” definition of court decisions…I don’t know that can be defined otherwise. But…one can never underestimate the ability of politicians to redefine and twist and contort the Constitution and SCOTUS decisions and common sense to fit their agenda.

Finally admitting that they use agents provocateur to achieve their agenda.
The FBI has a hole crop of commie cultists at training camps in MA and NH to recruit from now. A spoiled brat inherited $milions from a massive trust fund. He has already set up commie militia training camps in MA and NH. The dude is a complete psycho. If he were an avowed white supremacist he'd be in federal prison already. But, since is says he's a commie, the FBI wing of the DNC will recruit false flag agents to scare up support for revoking the 2A via regulation.
