Honestly what will happen to them if they refuse? Who's going to force them? The current resident of the White House and his minions certainly will not. I really expect NY and MD to flip the bird to the court and continue to arrest people for breaking what is now an unconstitutional law.

The court can order them to stop enforcing it and/or deem their permitting scheme unenforceable and order them to issue permits. If they refuse the court can effective invalidate the law/regulation entirely.

At that point, its constitutional carry. Good luck on NYC attempting to arrest people for carrying when the judicial system says what citizens are doing is legal. Yeah, the city/state could decide not to abide by court orders. Then it gets the feds involved. And they probably would, even as much as I dislike Biden. He is the type to "vehemently disagree, but still follow the courts instructions".

Well keep in mind when a state refuses to follow SCOTUS demands.

In the 50’s the National Guard came in and escorted the children of colour into the school and stuck around a while to make sure nothing bad happened.

Would Biden force the issue. I don’t know.

But SCOTUS could force the issue as well as the courts, and invalidate the whole law. We get constitutional carry. If someone is arrested. The Fed could (and have in the past) forcefully removed someone from state/city jails.

I don’t believe it will go that far. To many people would riot and something Similar to Jan 6 would happen again. The dems are scare of that. Just don’t see it.

I wonder the same. The current trend is that there are no consequences associated with picking and choosing what laws to enforce and which to ignore. It's a sure sign that the Country is circling the drain.

If they can ignore the laws, so can the citizens

If they refuse to issue permits….than I would say the default to that is Maryland is a Constitutional Carry state, as anyone arrested for conceal carrying could sue not only the state of Maryland, but the arresting officer as well for civil rights violations

Not only that, but there's already the appearance of a two-tiered justice system, and the Liberal "Elected Gentry" are openly advocating for ignoring the Roe ruling everywhere. We are rapidly becoming a completely lawless country.

Why is it that those who admitted they live in - say - Florida, insist on playing a game of "Let's You Punch Him in the Nose" with the Maryland residents?

The Leftist screams of "Constitutional Crisis" throughout 2016-21 were completely baseless and unwarranted. Today, several states, the Federal government and a significant number of government officials are openly defying the SCOTUS and CONUS and there's not even a hint of "constitutional crisis."

I repeat myself, but we're circling the drain.

To think that a couple years ago, the Left accused Trump of being a lawless Emperor.

    Oh, the irony.

Never, ever forget that whatever they accuse you of, it is they who have done or are already doing it.

Yes, if they defy the law, they will be in big trouble.

    Just ask Hillary Clinton.

The Law reigns supreme in America today.

Just ask the January 6 defendants.

I from FL suggested a court case would force Maryland, but the response was always “Bruen! “

Constitutional carry is what will happen. Bruen endorsed ignoring an unconstitutional prior restraint.
