Wow, two completely different beasts. I have a 15/22 and I want a takedown. I'd say 15/22 just bc of the versatility and capacity. The takedown would obviously win on portability.

The M&P 15-22 can be easily broken down in two pieces just like an AR so both score pretty good in portability.

Yeah it's not hard to break down the 15/22 but the takedown is much quicker. the 15/22 also lends itself to utilization of optics better and it's lighter.

I have both. The M&P 15/22 MOE would be my choice. Its light, breaks down, adjustable, less internal parts, makes less sound when suppressed and has unlimited options for optics and sights. and its light. did I mention how light it is?

I have both. I love both. For any kind of walking or traveling on foot/small vehicle, I'd pick the 10/22 TD. For range fun and short camping trips, I'd still probably pick the 10/22TD but the mp15-22 becomes viable. My 15-22 has magpul furniture but my 10/22 has tech sights, an AGP folding stock, and a QD sling. It also fits into my GoRuck with no issues and still has plenty of room left. It really depends on the application you need it for.

Having owned both, and still own the 15-22, I'd pick the 15-22. I've since bought a Savage FVSR with a Boyd's stock and can say that I enjoy shooting it more than the 10/22. I guess the 10/22 just wasn't for me.

The longer I own my 15-22 the more I agree that it's the best semi .22 made.

Different strokes I guess. Having both I would go with the 10/22. That said the marlin 39 is just as easy to seperate and that would be my choice over either.

Not arguing there, I was just only thinking of semis

I have a 15-22 and a 10/22 but I don't have the TD model. I was thinking about picking one up but I can't decide if it's worth it or not.

I have to say the new TacSol TD barrel looks pretty slick

Does the 15-22 require high-velocity ammunition to function properly? I know the conversion upper I had sold last year required CCI Stingers and such or it wouldn't cycle. The 10-22 worked with Remington Golden ammunition.

I've never had a problem with the 10/22's. One is tacticooled and the other is not. Both good firearms, don't have a feel for the smith and wesson.

I don't own either, but if I was going to buy one, it'd be the 10/22 takedown. It's just a sleeker platform for a 22 in my opinion. Plus the BX25 mags aren't as bulky as the 15-22 mags.
