Holy crap! Submitted late evening of 4 November 2014...active by evening of 5 November 2014! Just have to wait for the card in the mail, now.

Would like to thank the folks at Worth-A-Shot in Millersville for making a process I had great reservations participating in into a interesting, educational and enjoyable day.

Now to celebrate a victorious day...and make a purchase!

Filed as training exempt. Anyone have an idea how long thr Julvenile Services piece takes? Seems unnecessarily long.

So I finally got a hold of a lady who was very knowledgeable. She noted that a lot of times they will mark incomplete as a reminder to go back and check on something. Apparently when it is marked incomplete, it triggers a reminder system of sorts?

Anyways...still waiting, submitted 10/29....still not active (same status).

They told me that it's because of my very-common name. Apparently there are some number of felons with my same name.

I think that when that happens they turn it over to a uniformed trooper to do a secondary check. That really adds some time to the process.

The sad part is you gotta do it again when you actually purchase.

More "common sense" BS from the MD GA.

I heard that MSP didn't like doing the HQL check plus checking again for each purchase, for the nothing that's worth.

Look at it this way. Once you have a HQL. MSP doesn't have to look back at dates before you got the license. Only after the date of issue to the current date.

No update since Oct 30. I applied Oct 28th and did my gf's application as well. She was approved and active Oct 30th. And I have owned two handguns for 3 years and I'm still waiting. Thanks MD!

Finished my application on 11/4 and was noted as active on 11/5. I have no idea how it was approved so quick. One thing I can think of is that I filled out everything except my livescan and training exempt information a couple of weeks ago,so maybe they already had a file started just waiting for that information.

Either way, seems to be pretty inconsistant as to how they are processing things. Now I am just waiting for my actual card to show up in the mail.
