I have never seen anything like that in either my commercial or milspec M16 BCG, both with thousands of rounds.

So I took the bcg apart, even took the extractor out of the bolt, didn't really see anything, the cam pin seemed smooth, there was one small area that seemed possibly a little less than smooth but I can't see it causing that much damage to the firing pin. I'm really not sure what it could be. I guess I'll contact the dealer I bought it from and see what they say.

U check the upper yet for any abnormal wear?

The upper and charging handle show more wear than normal where they run against each other but not sure if its just due to the charging handle?

Are you running your ar dry? I've shot thousands of rounds and no wear at all. Maybe the charging handle is out of spec.

Doesn't make sense to me why it would affect the firing pin? The charging handle moves like any other of my AR's, no problem with it moving freely. And nope, very well oiled.

Cam pin getting caught on the charging handle and twisting it it looks like. That bare metal on the upper doesn't look normal.

Btw, those two pics were of the upper without the charging handle in it, no wear on the inside of the charging handle, just in the charging handle channel of the upper itself

I've handled hundreds of AR and M16 variants and have never seen wear like that. I would bring that weapon back to the dealer and have them eat the cost of replacement parts... no way should you be flipping the bill for that. :sad20:

Out of spec charging handle? Is it a 3rd party charging handle or is it the CH that came with the upper. Gas key could be bent also not where it meets the gas tube but more where it meets the BCG

That little nub on the front top of the charging handle that helps prevent rattling usually causes a little wear, but I've never seen it be that bad before as yours looks deeper, narrower and more defined.

I agree, much more wear than rifles I've shot a ton of rounds through. Charging handle I got off another member on the forum, no name brand. I contacted the dealer I got the bcg from and they are taking care of me. After I swap out the parts I'll see how it runs.

It could be the shadows, but your gas tube looks canted. Is the gas block/tube aligned properly? From the photos it looks like it is not.

Don't want to say right now, I wanted to get some opinions before contacting the manufacturer/seller. It's a reputable company, I'll probably contact them this week and see if they've ever had similar issues with this bcg.

Why? I never understood this theory?
If they are reputable they will correct this.
You are not outing them you just may have a bad unit or your rifle is to blame
Just based on this post you are talking about A great online seller on mDS
If its him no doubt 100% he will make it right
He's not a scam artist he's not money hungry monster.
He's a down to earth salesman with good morals...
