I just noticed this on Facebook today:

Fans of HB 52: Maryland Recognition of Out of State Concealed Carry Permits We have begun circulating a Floor Petition to bring Delegate Smigiel's bill HB-52 to the floor of the House for a vote. This is a very rarely used procedure which Delegate J.B. Jennings will be heading the effort to get the required number of signitures from the delegates. When we get down to the last few needed we will give information on who you need to contact.

    just got this from AGC
    Dear Stephen,

I have just been advised by Delegate Mike Smigiel's Chief of Staff, Andi Morony that HB 52 was defeated by a narrow 12-10 margin. This is the closest we have ever come to a victory on a pro-concealed carry bill! Well done.

During a little over 3 hour period beginning at 3:14 PM this afternoon AGC Legislative E-mail readers sent over 14,400 emails to the House of Delegates.

The motion on the bill was for an "Unfavorable" report. This means that committee members voting "Nay" are actually voting against the motion and FOR the bill.

Be very careful when the read the formal vote report. This should be available tomorrow and we will provide a link to it when it becomes available.

The following delegates voted to bring HB 52 to the floor of the House:

    Curtis Anderson
    Jill Carter
    Don Dwyer
    William Frank
    J. B. Jennings
    Kevin Kelly
    Susan McComas
    Tony McConkey
    Todd Schuler
    Michael Smigiel, Jr.

Thank you again for your support!

    John H. Josselyn
    AGC Legislative Vice President
