      Experience with Model 1 Sales

I didn't know anyone made AR uppers in .556 cal...must be a bitch to manage. I mean, .50 is bad enough. Do you need it to kill elephants hiding behind schools? :D Or did you mean 5.56mm, which is to say .223 cal...same/same?

      Lets Talk Battle Belts

This is one of the better ideas I've heard lately. I'd be up for it.

School me on the Beretta M9 compatibility

"You're just not a Navy SEAL/'Till you've had a face full of Italian steel..." was, if memory serves, the claim. Apparently part of the reason they Navy went to SIGs.

MSAR Range... I've seen it all

Sounds about par for Army weapons training...that's why they send 'em to 11-B school. Once I was out of Basic, I didn't fire a single round out of a rifle or pistol. Tank guns, on the other hand....heh.

Why is .45lc so hard to find?

I've got two boxes (20 rnds per box) of Win .45 Colt from cleaning out my grandfather's gun cabinet...fairly new - about 18 months old. Any takers?

      CCW Holster

OK, I'm going to try ordering a Supertuck. After Christmas, you know, when I've got money again...in the meantime, I bought off Ebay for a whopping 5.95 a soft suede IWB that holds my Colt Diamondback beautifully. In a crossdraw position, it's comfortable, easy to reach, and conceals very...

Saw that On Target was hiring

Really? I think that the range is pretty good; very easy to use and friendly to new shooters. I took my wife there for her first "day out", and it was a very good experience. Haven't bought anything other than targets and ammo there, though. The staff were friendly, helpful, and not...

Mav 88 vs Mossy 500 Interchangable Parts

Not quite the same gun - the safety is on the trigger guard of the Maverick, and on the back of the receiver for the Mossberg. The internal parts of the actions are somewhat different, and not completely interchangable. That said, the various accessories seem to be totally compatible, with...

      Which Shotgun Would You Buy?

I have an 18" Maverick I might be interested in selling or trading. Real basic, pistol grip "cruiser" configuration, nothing fancy.

      CCW Holster

I've got a CCW, and carry while working in Virginia. Work often entails entering/exiting my vehicle frequently, so I'm finding my IWB holster uncomfortable. I'm thinking about a shoulder holster, but I haven't found anyone who makes them in LARGE sizes - I've got a 64-inch chest, and...

Which Walmarts in the area sell ammo?

My experience is that Mt. Airy usually has the best selection; I've also had good luck at the Guilford Rd. one in Frederick on Sunday mornings, which is apparently when they restock. I've even found....<gasp> .38 special! .45 ACP, even!

      New 1911 ?

Yanno, I keep hearing people saying that, but I just don't see it - the prices seem in line with most other places. Yah, you can buy cheaper online, but what with transfer fees and whatnot... Admittedly, I haven't shopped much beyond Fredneck and Montgomery County, so your mileage may vary.

      cresap open this weekend

Yeah...maybe shotgun ammo is different, but I use 50-60 year old Soviet-bloc military surplus ammo with some regularity. I've never had a misfire. Not that I'd use a Mosin for home defense, unless it was my only choice.

And let the ROs know you're waiting for a lane - they've always been good about coming over and givng me a heads-up a few minutes before the cease-fire.

My Wife is Awesome - SP 101 wanted!

A good buddy of mine is the manager at Gilbert's, so I reserve comment on them. OTOH, I don't shoot there, much... That said, On Target has evening hours until 9, and weekend hours including Sunday. They've got an excellent selection of rentals. Your wife and my wife should get...
