I am having issues with my 1911 SA Loaded. Accuracy is the main bug and would like to get my barrel slugged...then if that is the culprit, replace fit a new barrel and bushing.
Thoughts?
HI everyone. Just finished my loads and went to the range to check them out.
I used mixed brass .45acp. Two powders HP38 and VV N310. The bullets are Hornady XTP 200 gr JHP and Nosler Custom Competition 185 gr JHP.
I loaded 4 sets of each starting at slightly above minimum and stepping up...

The bullets are Hornady XTP 200gr, Hornady 185gr XTP and 185gr Nosler JHP. The new powder (new to me) HP-38
Ok so Im prepping cases and in working up I've crunched a number of cases. Mostly all Speer...
So have any f you folks bought a powder/bullets or other non returnable components and have been disappointed in it?
A couple of years ago, when the availability was almost nil...remember those days? I bought a 4lb jug of VV N310 for reloading .45acp. It was a quick non researched purchase. So...
I'm reloading 30.06 for a bolt gun. The preferred load that this gun likes is 165gr spbt Sierra Game King over 48 gr IMR 4895.
I have a number of cases from various mfg. Lake City, Federal, Remington and most of all mil surp from my Garand.
Does the case choice affect the accuracy for a...
I have a Springfield Loaded 1911. I doubt there's a current warranty on it. Anyway the night sights are dead. Don't want to send this pistol away...any suggestions?
I loaded some range ammo for my .45's
First of all, I'm used 3.7gr Vihta Vuori N310 and the Oregon Trail 200 gr LSWC.
So, like a dumb ass, I didn't do any range tests, nor any chrono tests...I just loaded up 600 rounds.
After 100 rounds I find this load to be weak. Every 4th round or so...
When I reload for my bolt gun and for my Garand I am a meticulous about sorting brass. I am now starting to reload for my 45 ACP. The brass that I have is mixed up to say the least.

wanna run this by you guys to see if this is reasonable or not. I have a late ww2 :)Danish Garand. I still have a few things to do to it. lately I have been wanting to get into an AR15.
Would it be feasible to offer a WW2 Dane for a even trade for an AR?
I have a SA 1944 build Garand. I have done more to this rifle than I have done to any other firearm in my meager collection. I STILL cannot get this rifle to group tighter that "dinner plate"
Just got back from Hap Baker and now we are vertical stringing.
frustrated right now....but NOT...
I'm looking to work in the local area. Now I am a professional truck driver and am all over the lower 48. I would be interested in anything at this point.
I have my CDL-A with double/triples and HazMat endorsements. I also have a TWIC card for port and military base access.
My driving record is clean...no accidents or tickets.
Im looking to make a move asap.
Right now I drive 'Over the Road' for a very good company...however the time...
Ok so here is what I've decided to do. I am going to school to get my CDL A license. I'll spend the next 5 1/2 months at school and ned something part tinme to hopefully make ends meet (at least a tad better than they are now)
Any thoughts?
I'd like to take my 8yo fishing.
I'd like to hook up with some sunnies or catfish for her...where?
We live near Middle River and would like someplace close for Sunday afternoon/evening.
I am posting to my blog a photo tutorial on accurizing a M1 Garand. If you have a Garand and would like to make it a shooter, hopefully some of the things I've done might help you.
It's been a really long but fun project.
