I have a Mossberg 590A1 with a standard bead sight. I really like the bead sight concept, but I want to replace it with something that has higher visibility over a range of environments. Ideally, I would like something that has a combination of a tritium vile and a place to insert a fiber...
I have dealt with both. In fact, I bought my first custom CZ from the their custom shop, wasn't completely happy with it, so I sent to David at CGW also. It is now the best pistol I own. I just bought another one from CGW.
In my experience, David goes over and above to make sure the pistol...
I have come to the conclusion that they both have their place. If weight is my priority then I'm going to going with a polymer striker fired option. If trigger quality and accuracy are my priorities, then I'm going with a metal framed hammer fired pistol.
If CZs weren't a secret then more gunshops would actually carry them. The first thing I ask in every shop is "where are the CZs" and they rarely have any.
It has been some time since I have looked at this stuff. However, there does appear to be a prohibition on most commercial sales over 5 pounds. There is no prohibition on purchases, though you can't possess it once you bought it, so it is implied.
Here is the relevant language:

A lot. I have more money into this pistol than most, because it went through two custom shops. I wanted a perfect pistol and I got it. It just took two shots.
The single action is at 1 pound. The DA is about 4.5 pounds (if I recall correctly). Both are extremely smooth and predictable. The trigger brakes like glass and in the exact same way every time. Also, the reset is virtually nonexistent and it's a firm wall. The trigger brakes exactly where...
Interesting thread. Without a doubt I would say in the US the best kept secret is CZ. IMHO, they make some the best in the world.
This is my CZ SP-01 Shadow Custom with a bunch of additional custom work done at Cajun Gun Works. It is the best pistol I own and I can't imagine it will be...
Be careful about bulk powder purchases in MD. As far as I know it is unlawful to buy, sell, possess more than 5 pounds at a time in Maryland. If you live in a condo or other multi-family dwelling you can't have any.
What sucks about is that if you reload for a precision rifle, like I do, it...
Ha! It's been a few months. I have to admit, I miss the walkability of Bethesda and all the restaurants we had access to there. However, Virginia has obvious advantages that I'm enjoying very much.
BTW, I just sucked it up and ordered a micrometer with my Virginia tax savings.
I have a caliper. It's not sufficient. I need a case neck micrometer or gauge. Micrometer would be better. I need to measure to ten thou with precision.
Does anyone in NoVa happen to have a precision instrument for measuring case neck wall thickness that I can borrow for just a few days? I would really appreciate it and would return the favor. If so, please email me. Thank you.
