I understand that AR-15s bought or built after 10/2013 basically need to be HBAR. However, if a person has a pre-2013 AR-15, is it basically grandfathered—or must any new upper put on the lower be HBAR?
Apologies if this is mentioned elsewhere, but has anyone else gotten e-mails from Laura Burgess Marketing regarding this future range in Beltsville? Anyone got any details? If there's already a thread, could you point me to it?
Mods, feel free to move elsewhere if it doesn't belong here.

OK they're the ones with hot pink followers, but I'm OK with that. After you load the first round, who's gonna know? Shit, buy some for your girlfriend.

So a comment in one of the other threads here made me wonder: where do movie studios and/or production companies get the post-1986 weapons they use for making movies?
When I took my hunters safety class, I was told that rifles/shotguns should be stored with the barrel in a horizontal position, like on a truck gun rack. How many of you actually do this, as opposed to storing them vertically (butt down)?
If I have a stripped lower in-hand, all I need to do is fill out a Form 1, with my intended barrel length, correct? When I get approval, I can then mount my upper to the approved (engraved) lower?
What if at some point I decide I want to attach a full-length upper to the lower, I can still...
Even though prices for ammo seem to be coming down slowly, I can't seem to even find anyplace that has even overpriced .300 AAC in stock. Anyone know where this stuff can be found (preferably not overpriced, though!)?
Sorry for the n00b question; I'm not a deer hunter--not yet anyway: why do some (most?) areas in MD prohibit hunting deer with rifles, and only permit shotguns? I would think that a slug gun has a good deal more muzzle energy than the minimum required 1200 ft-lb for rifles.
So I was at Cresap late morning/early afternoon shooting a 20" AR-15 with a Redfield Revolution 3-9x40 scope. I noticed that on some of my shots the "picture" of the target was a little hazy, particularly at 100yd. Is that the effect of heat? Temps were supposedly upper 60s or lower 70s. I...
I'm looking to pick up a .22 that I can use for cheap plinking and working on technique. Ideally something with some decent size to it, since my other pistols are Glocks. Went to Engage to check out some of their wares. The M&P 22 seemed like it fit the bill the best; the other .22s they had...
As far as I can tell, all of the nearby indoor ranges and many outdoor ranges permit only slugs when shooting shotguns. Where can a guy go to shoot shot?
Hey folks, I'm looking for an AR gunsmith in the DC area (preferably MoCo or NoVa) to un-pin a front sight from an upper, so that it can be replaced with a gas block flip-up front sight. Should be pretty simple, right?
Suggestions?
Why is it that I often get the address static.ak.facebook.com, or s-static.ak.facebook.com listed in the "recent pages" list of my browser, when I'm reading the forums here?
