I don't want to sound like a jerk...
But ammo is expensive. It goes to the guys who actually need it (active duty, infantry, or those that use a rifle, not a pen or wrench in their MOS). And even us infantry guys don't spend all day shooting either. If your unit is involved in an actual...
It's probably not the best idea to keep a firearm locked up in your car all day, either. Sure, lots of people do it and never have anything happen (theft), but there's always that chance that your car or just your gun will be stolen. And thats a pretty bad day.
I saw that tpo. Pretty nifty, but yeah, it looks pretty unstable and inaccurate. I think the test they did was a shot at a bottle of orange soda at 50 yards or something. It was a hit, but I really wonder how well it shoots past that. It just looks like a very unstable platform to fire a rifle...
He seems like one of the only "gun guys" on Youtube who actually shoots. There are a lot of gun channels on there but many of the hosts just seem to ramble on and on and don't even shoot their guns. It's nice to watch some videos where the host isn't dressed up in "tacticool" costume, too!
Thats close to home! I think I may need to acquire a bow if I'm going to do some covert suburban bear hunting though.

A few years ago New Jersey tried to get a bear hunting season approved, they we're having quite a problem with bears in suburbia. There was some serious public outcry (PETA protests and whatnot) about getting a season approved, but they finally got one.
I'm aware of MD bear hunting in...
Kilroy, I'll admit you enlightened me on Miltec.
But the lubrication issue, I have to address again.
If you want me to cite examples straight from MCWP 3-15.1 "Machine Guns and Machine Gun Gunnery" (AKA The Machine Gun Bible), I'll go right ahead. But to paraphrase from the book (not sure if...
"And on the 8th Day John Browing created the 1911."
I don't believe the 1911 is "better" than Glocks or any other good auto pistols out there. A gun is what you make it.
For me though, I love the classic, retro looks of an M1911A1 style pistol. And I love how it's ALL steel. It just feels...
