How long ago did you get your paperwork? The "verbal" info I reffered to was from a phone conversation over 20 yrs ago with the ATF local agent. Haven't been active as a "collector" in almost as many years and as I said times are changing and albeit rarely, sometimes for the better.
was told many years ago up to 11 transfers a year "out" of your records/bound book, you are still a collector, at number 12 ATF considered you a "dealer". Profit or loss was not the issue but the amount of transfers were. That being said once any weapon that was in the "bound book" for a year...
Dittos to Mark and the other post. Been collecting milsurp over 30yrs this one is out of the park with condition, originality and completeness. Along with the story if verified, your friend could name his price and sit back and take the highest offer if he ever wanted to sell.
Sub moa at 100yds<1" sub moa at 500yds<5" etc. So if no wind or other environmental factors change along the way it should hold sub moa until it hit the dirt at what ever range. And yes I have (access to) one in .338LMag and it is spot on, just need new/better glass for it to really shine...and...
Unless you don't like the looks now after you got it in had, if the heavy finish doesn't deter from the function, I'd leave it alone. The refinish already stole the collector value.

:thumbsup:Nice start for sure. That's what got me going a long time ago, mil surp that is. Back in the day (way back now that I think about it) I used to walk into K-mart and Roses in VA and my dad and I would spend hours looking at a rack of 2-3 dozen import war vets trying to...
When I could legally years ago, in the store and to and from, I carried a full sized 1911 IWB. Granted it was for only 4-8 hrs a day. I had my choice of literally dozens of guns to choose from (owned a gunshop) and I always went to the 45.
Aside from the condition and your personal opinion on the looks of the particular rifle in hand all shoot equally well IF you stay away from the chinese pinned in barrel stuff. I have witnessed them heat up and walk a basketball sized group at 50yds. Get any threaded barrel gun and if like what...
Have one for several years now and they are fun....for about a dozen rounds or so then they get a little uncomfortable. 7.62x54R is a little stout for a carbine round. The only thing I have that causes me to flinch even more is a Columbian mauser carbine that is a wee bit smaller in heft and it...
Ditto's to Ab Normal. Hidden in plain sight with a lock. That actually may be more secure that a safe that automatically says "break me open I've got something valuable inside!" and definitely a lot cheaper...
All contact was through email and they weren't at the last Show Place Arena gunshow, that combined with my lack of patience has made me a little suspect.
Would have hoped my $2K order garnered me a little better/timely response from them. Guess I'll break out the "big baseball bat" and let...
Has anyone tried purchasing ammo through Georgia Arms recenty? I placed and order 25 OCT this year for bulk 308 match and 40 cal. Their sight indicated free shipping within 3-4 days. Waited 2wks before inquiring about my order and was told because of "the election results" the backlog is now...
