I left. Sorry, I had the opportunity and GotTFO.

Picked up a Beretta M9A1 yesterday, no MSP. 2 forms (Virginia paperwork has 3 questions), out the door in an hour including being put on delay.

I am not rubbing it in, I know how much of a PITA this HQL will be for anyone in MD, gun owner and FFL alike. What a bunch of steaming bullcrap.

I'm active duty and retire in a few years.....no hql for me

Thank you for your service! I will also be getting the HQL ASAP. I won't let MOM win and I have already sent my prints to 3 other states so I'm on file anyway. That did bother me at one point until I remembered I have had my prints done mutiple times

Anyone that gets the HQL, trains people for it or consents in any way is helping the State suppress your rights.

And your alternative is for people in Maryland to just not by anymore handguns from this day forward???

    Yeah! THAT'LL show'em!
    :sad20:

My last official act of defiance for the month of September will be to pick up my Super Blackhawk .44 magnum on the 30th. My first official act of defiance for the month of October will be to submit my application for my HQL. (Assuming it's available on the 1st.) My first official act for the month of November (hopefully) will be to purchase my first post-Oct 1st handgun.

Ironically, had this not all come about, it probably would have been a long time before I bought another handgun. But even though I really do have "all that I NEED", because they are now trying to stop me, "I WANT more" and will buy them now, JUST to prove a point!.

It'll take me the better part of six months to repair the damage SB281 has done to my finances. Then I'll have to build 3 ARs. I doubt I'll hold back on any nice C&R opportunities. After that, we'll see about an HQL.

I'm looking at a least a year to recover, especially if I get uppers for my built lowers. I'm giving up my 03 to eliminate the urge to buy more (I will of course make a run at the IHC's if and when they show up).

Then there is the issue of upgrades for existing firearms. Giesselle trigger group buy anyone?

Until another 1911 catches my attention,:D

Saving up for a les baer or the right Remington Rand.

I will however bust my butt with MSI to make sure everyone who is being disenfranchised by this law due to time constraints or finances has the opportunity to join the ranks of legal gun owners.

I'm a retiree, so I guess the HQL doesn't apply for now. That's good, I have another 13-15 more years before I retire from my "day job", and while I will move out of the state almost immediately afterward, I can't see not buying a few more pistols over the next 13-15 years. Sadly, my main interest is in modern rifles, but I guess I'll be stuck with what I have on hand.

The problem with that statement is that without HQL you can't buy handguns. The LGS may just close up from the loss of business. Let's face it, how many long guns can we buy to keep them afloat. As the LGS close up we have nowhere to purchase firearms and the State wins. We as shooters need to support our LGS and fight the State in the courts and work to change Annapolis via the ballot box. Remember all politics is local (That's where it starts). We need to find or keep the politicians that care about the 2nd, they may be from any of the parties. IMHO Chris.

That is the most idiotic thing I've ever heard. The purpose of the law is to prevent people from becoming firearms owners. NOT HELPING them is aiding the state to suppress our rights.
