9 days to go, unless they only counting "business days" in their 90 day statement. If it's only business days that would be another month and a half.

it's 90 calendar days.
I don't think there's a formal process time limit for NR. It's just a guideline.
this is true. The 45 day limit is for resident permits. That's in the statute.
Back when I got my VA NR permit in 2009 I waited 30 days.
i guess CCW permits have gotten more popular.
Don't want this to be a thread jack, but anyone do a resident permit through Fairfax recently? How long was your wait?
They usually wait the maximum amount of days before mailing out. PWC was a week back in March.
I think when states like NV started to recognize VA, the perrmit became more popular. No more trips to Vegas just to renew my permit.
Permit Renewal
The renewal process is identical to the processes and costs associated with the original permit with the exception of proof of competence with a handgun. New photos and fingerprint impressions will be required. It is suggested that all renewal application packages be submitted at least 60 days prior to expiration of the existing permit.
VA notified me that my application was accepted October 7th, 2016. Good stuff
