I did learn today that the "American Tomahawks" are indeed made in America. They're produced in Ohio, so that's a big fat bonus in my opinion.

This is in my opinion a nice looking Tomahawk. My question though is to wonder if something with a hammer head is more overall useful than a spike. I'm also not sure how the head is attached.

Picked one up at GC about 5-6 months ago. Don't have much use for it on a daily basis, but I'm thinking it's better than a baseball bat behind the seat of the truck. :D

Handle is straight through with the bolt to tighten it against the head.

Shallow finger grooves in the handle. Not enough to get a solid grip IMHO, always feels like it's going to slip right out of my hand unless it's bone dry. I'm thinking of wrapping 550 cord the length of the finger grooves to fix that.

    Overall, it's solid.

Well, the issue is solved for me. As Rattlesnake noted, Gun Connection had one in stock. Dan is ordering more tomorrow. Thanks everyone! Kevp, I hope you'll still post pics of the RMJ.

That Emerson doesn't have the edge along the bottom of the front blade.

I never appreciated that feature until watching the video of the guy using that to open a car like a can opener. Very impressive.

I was an EMT for four years while in High School, being able to open a car in a hurry is a valuable tool/skill to have. Most impressive was him taking out the windshield in just a few minutes, frankly I'm sold on this as a rescue tool.

I believe that is called the "beard". If you like that design, the tomahawk pictured by Rattlesnake has a very functional one.

Ive thought of one, been a little poor to be choosy (have the stainless camp axe previouly mentioned, balance isnt great but with a little work I bet it could be).

I dug out some of my tomahawks, each of them were less than $125.
The two on the right have stone heads and are replicas of ones made thousands of years ago.
