    I saw a post about new inventory coming on the SKS board. Then looked at SOG's online site and sure enough "expected about June 1". It also says they have some cracked stock guns from the old inventory available.

    Yes, prices are higher then yesteryear. But I don't see the surplus market ever returning to the way it was. How much were those K98's back in the day?

    I bought two SKS's from Samco Global back in Jan. One is new unissued and perfect. I paid $390 for that and the other is rated as Excellent and you can barely tell it from the new one and paid $369 for that one. The only ones I see selling cheaper are real beaters.

    The C&R holders in America lament the prices for the SVT40 in Canada while the Canadians wish they could get their hands on a Garand for under $3k. I don't own an SVT40 but I have of heard plenty of reliability issues with them, I would rather have my Garand...

    That does not mean I am not looking for a reasonably priced SVT40 on gunbroker every night :-)
