^ That would be great but where in the COTUS is the federal government given that authority?

At this point, I don't care. We have to stop worrying about playing by the rules, because our enemies (the left) clearly don't.

So instead let's just burn the Constitution and set the precedent that, since the federal government has the power to tell the states that they can't make their firearms laws more restrictive laws than federal laws, then they can also tell them they can't make less restrictive laws either? Sorry, it's not worth it. Those "rules" are the only thing stopping slowing the descent of this country into the U.S.S.R. of A.

You don't get it. The precedent has already been set. The Supreme Court has ruled that the Commerce Clause covers absolutely anything that Congress wants it to, and if not that, they can levy a tax as a way of forcing a certain behavior. We might as well benefit.

Government will never get smaller if that's how we go about things.

Many of us here look at the prism if gun rights from our experience here in Maryland, but a quick scan of the news shows that this state is in an overwhelming minority. The 2A is winning on a national level, and winning big.

The problem is, we need to get to a point where the pro-2A movement actually affects MD and makes it fall in line with respecting the Constitution!

Plan D? Not worth the hassle.
I'll believe it when I see it. But then who needs the Senate when we have Executive Orders being carried out whenever Obama wants something he can't get.

Right, much better if we have more legislation. Think about this what happens to exec orders when the administration changes? Now contrast that with what happens to law..

To say nothing of the relative ease of challenging eo s vs the law..

Try to see the wins as well as the losses. We need to stay in the game...

You could read it first. Even the 14A

I think the powers that be in Maryland are starting to see that they are in a losing position based on their antics the past 3 weeks.

Also, for the Illinois Supreme Court to strike down the state's prohibition on CCW (9-0 IIRC) is a VERY bad sign for states looking to further curtail gun rights.

More and more people are tired of the whiny PC attitudes of liberals; their lies, obfuscation and the arrogance of tyranny.

We are and need to continue to be the voice of reason, consistency and the rights of the individual to determine his own destiny without governmental infringement. Our message continues to become louder and more forceful as more awaken from liberal servitude and realize just what "We The People" really means! -- The battle may be long and bloody, but the tide is slowly turning in our favor.

****Honestly, there are LOTS of people in my area of MoCo that flat out say there should be a complete ban on firearms of any type except for military and police, and that the cops should go house to house just confiscating all privately owned firearms. This is of course a welcome change over their previous thought of simply killing gun owners for the sake of protecting the children from firearm violence. You don't want to accuse these folks of being anything but reasonable of course...

Coexistence to them means basically you agree with them or else.. I work with people like this, have gone to school with people like this, and the really crappy part is that public SCHOOLS are teaching kids this and other liberal ideology. Being open minded to them mostly means celebrating racial and sexual diversity as opposed to much anything else. The Utopian ideals they talk about and the elimination of poverty by having the government provide for everything people need are far away from the reality of government tyranny as is clearly seen and smelled from the lack of toilet paper in Venezuela to the lack of food in North Korea.

Ironically, the European ideal in all of this they prattle on about is mostly falling apart as seen in the financial disasters of socialist Spain, Portugal, Italy, Greece, Ireland, and now the Netherlands. These countries are ALL cutting back government benefits, etc.. while we go headfirst toward the crap that has ruined those countries' economies.

And they all love Barack Obama.. If only he weren't being held back by those evil Tea Party Republicans - he would solve all of our problems and make the USA heaven on Earth. He could start by repealing the 2nd amendment and THEN require licenses to have free speech by anyone who doesn't agree with the Democrat party platform.. All in the interest of fairness and tolerance...
