    May Match Results

We finally had a nice, sunny, HOT day for our Rimfire Steel match. Don F took overall honors (Open Division - score 111.17 secs). In the open division Steve G came in second (132.64 secs) and Steve S was third (159.85 sec). In the Limited Division Keelen G, his first time shooting Rimfire Steel, took top place (148.91 sec), Chris D was second (151.58 sec) and Ed T came in third (282.30 sec). In the Manually Operated division Joe M took first place (209.39 sec) and Mary P came in second (315.03 sec).

There were several Novices shooting today in addition to Keelen mentioned above - Christian C, Chris M, Amanda S, and Christine C. They all did very well! We hope they enjoyed themselves and will come out again soon!

The match results are available at the following link:

For any match scored with practiscore you can always go in to www.practiscore.com and click on match results then page through and look for the match of interest. So this match was actually posted before I left the parking lot.

In a day or two I'll be sending out an excel document with the scores as they do fall off the practiscore website after a few months and I like to have an archive of past scores.

Let me know if you see any problems with your score.

Thanks to Doc and Dennis for all their hard work in putting together these matches, to Dean G for once again coming out to help even when he wasn't shooting and to the set up crew (Doc, Dennis, Dean and I think it was Gary G.).

Appreciate everyone's help post-match in getting all the steel and equipment put away. A whole lot quicker with 20 people breaking down instead of the 4 that set it up!

Sunday's Rimfire Steel Match - Rain or Shine

Tomorrow may be rainy but Sunday looks to be nice! Plan appropriate footwear for muddy pits but otherwise should be a nice day for shooting. If that changes we'll let you know but we are planning on going rain or shine. We'll have canopies up for shade.

Non-members - the gate will be open from 0815-0845.

Everyone please plan to check in by no later than 0845 match morning so that we can have everything synced and ready to go by the end of the safety brief at 0900.

Remember the speed limit on Sanners roads including the entry by the Sanner's house is 10 mph.

    June Rimfire Steel Match Results

After a very rainy day before, which forced set up to move to the morning of the match, we ended up with a beautiful day for our June Rimfire Steel match. The pits were a tad muddy in spots but that didn't dampen the fun had by all. Don F once again took overall honors (Open Division - score 85.40 secs). In the open division Dave K came in second (101.01 secs) and Steve G was third (103.87 sec). In the Limited Division Joe M took top place (102.38 sec), Keelen G was second (115.90 sec) and Chris D came in third (122.07 sec). In the Manually Operated division Joe M took first place (148.56 sec) and Mary P came in second (205.10 sec) and Carson F (youth) shooting manually operated for the first time came in third place (510.51 sec).

Last month Keelen G shot Rimfire Steel for the first time and this time brought out two new people with him Hillary E and Cory E. They picked a nice day to try out rimfire steel and hopefully we'll see them back next month.

    Match results are here: https://practiscore.com/results.php?uuid=F4AEE4DE-DBD1-492C-8033-693B35643AC4

As always you can look for results before this email comes out by going to the main practiscore page here: https://practiscore.com/results/ And looking for our match - it should be named something identifiable.

In a few days I'll have an excel file with the results and stage setup for your archives. Please let me know if you see anything wrong with your score.

Thanks to the set up crew - Doc, Dennis, Joe M, Carrie Lee, Dean G, Dave K and Mary P. I apologize if I missed someone - it was busy in the morning!

Thanks to everyone for helping tear down and especially to Dave K, Joe M and Ryan T for unloading everything back at the conex.

    Next match is July 26th.

    July Rimfire Steel Challenge Results

    Rimfire Steel Challenge
    Match Report
    Sanners Lake Sportsmans Club
    July 26, 2015

Hot and humid day for a rimfire steel match, but any day is a good day to shoot with friends. 27 shooters came out over 2 days to enjoy 3 stages (see the Stage Description tab for the stage layouts). Only 3 stages as there was a structure set up in the shoot house pit, but it still provided a challenge and got us out of there before the peak heat hit. We had five that registered as Novices come out and try the sport for the first time: Korey S, Derek C, Jerry T, Clement H & Candice Ch. I think they all had a good time (Doc offered refunds to anyone who didn't have a good time and there were no takers) and hopefully we'll see them out again!

Today's top honors goes to Don F shooting the Open division (optics) with a time of 64.35 sec. Second place in Open goes to Steve G with 77.30 sec and Dave K took third place at 79.05 sec. In the Limited division (iron sights) Joe M (Saturday) took first place with a time of 83.82 seconds, Mark S (Saturday) came in second with 87.64 seconds and Chris D was third at 89.19 sec. In the Manually Operated division (Lever and Revolver) Harry B (with that short stroke Browning) was first with a staggering time of 96.48 seconds and Joe M (Sunday) was second with 122.38 seconds. Top Senior goes to Terry W with a time of 89.82 sec. Top Lady was Aileen K at 120.79 seconds. See the attached file for detailed results.

A special thanks goes out to the set up crew on Saturday, the RO's and score keepers on Sunday and to those that stuck around after the match to help with, not only tear down, but also hauling it back to the conex and unloading. Without the volunteers, the match would not exist.

And as always a big thanks to Doc H & his team for making the match happen.

    August Rimfire Steel Match Report

A beautiful day for shooting! The sun even stayed hidden for at least half the match. We had 35 shooters come out including seven novices! Two of those novices were husbands that ladies from the Women's Rimfire Steel match brought out with them!

Don F once again took the Overall Match winner spot with a time of 83.57 sec (OPEN division) though Dave K wasn't far behind at 88.31 secs (OPEN) and third place in the Open division was Steve G posting a time of 95.27 sec.

In the Limited Division Keelen G was first with a time of 98.02 sec. Chris D was second with 102.70 sec and Gary G came in third place with 117.20 sec.

In the Manually Operated division Joe M was blazing with his lever action today and came in first in Manually Operated (and 12th overall) with a time of 130.52 sec. Mary P came in second at 253.67 sec and Carson F (youth) had the biggest smile of the match as he shot his pump and revolver coming in third with 428.94 sec.

The top Cowboy was Michael D shooting a Ruger Single Ten and coming in at 235.29 sec.

Michael R was our top Novice posting a time of 145.59 sec very impressive for a first match! Hopefully our Novices, Micahel R, Bill B, Michael H, Steven H, Anthony V, Ed J and Sean M, had fun and will come out again next month.

A huge thank you to our set up crew - Dennis W, Dave K, Dean G, Joe M, Jeff M, Jim F, Gunnar F, Carson F, Terry W and a special thank you to two of our Novices Mike H and Steven H - first time they shot a match and they came out and helped set up! We definitely hope to see you guys at a match again!

And thanks to all our ROs, Dean G, Steve G, Gary G, Dave K (I know there were others too who stepped in to help out - thank you too!) without all of you we couldn't have a match.

Results are on practiscore at this link:

    October Rimfire Steel Match Results

Sanners Lake Sportsman Club Rimfire Steel Match
    October 25, 2015

Overcast, 60's and a touch of rain - a great day to be shooting rimfire steel! The rain was only sprinkles sporadically and the canopies helped to keep things mostly dry. A huge thanks to Dave K and Joe M for designing and creating some really cool, spooky stages. I've attached pictures of the stages for those who couldn't make it.

We had one Novice today - Tom V - who came out with his wife Shirley after she shot and really enjoyed the Ladies Rimfire event back in August. They both had a good time and said they would be back for sure!

The match winner today was Dave K with a score of 93.97 secs in the Open division. Note that Dave also wins the consistency award as he shot during the set up the day before and score a 94.10 sec. Second place in Open was Steve G with 98.63 sec and taking third was Terry W with 130.93 sec.

In the Limited division Joe M took first place with 116.00 sec and Korey S came in second with 138.92 sec - switching places from last month. And third place went to Ryan T with 162.58 sec - I think his first time in the placings.

Harry B came out today and took first place in Manually Operated with a time of 120.35 (also placing 5th overall!!!). Joe M (shot Limited during set up and Manually Operated at the match today) took second place with a time of 144.69 sec and rounding out third place was Mary P with 228.30 sec.

Micheal D took first in Cowboy with a time of 202.55 sec and even beat his Limited time, he shot during set up, of 236.66 sec. He's a true cowboy!

    Full results are here: https://practiscore.com/results/550e71e4-30c4-4585-892b-c3b527a0088a/index

    Detailed results are attached.

A huge thank you to the set up crew and those who RO'ed. Dave K, Joe M, Dennis W, Michael D, Bill B, Michael S, Heather L, Steve G, and Korey S. If I missed anyone many thanks too! And thanks for Joe, Micheal D, Dave and Laura K (and I think one other helping Dave) for the tear down help. Appreciate you staying to the bitter end to make sure the range was left looking better than it started.

For next month, our normal Sunday is during deer hunting season so we are having the match the Sunday prior (Nov. 22).

What equipment is needed beyond firearms/mags and ammo? Do need holster and mag holders?
Gun is cased and brought to the line. Mags at least min of two.. Pref 5 (so you don't have to reload the mags during cof)
No holster required. Stages are shot from low ready position. ;)
