More gorgeous in person too. Somewhat ironic as it is the quintessential "Dirty" Harry gun.
When I became an empty-nester a few years ago, I made a list of handguns I wanted to re-acquire over time but, to be honest, none on the list were as difficult to find as a blued S&W Model 29-2. Either the price was too high or the condition was too used so I went on to other things on my list but, always kept an eye out.
Plan now is to get the reloading bench set-up again and do it right. And to really get nostalgic, I just ordered a set of old (new stock) Pachmayr non-logo target grips off EBay for $29 shipped, exactly the same kind I used in IHMSA matches many years ago.
Always thought they were a bit softer and stickier than the Pachmayr presentation grips with the logo. They make shooting .44 Magnum fun.
