Dont like shotguns. Have a pistol somewhere. So if we can just stay with these 4 choices please. Home defense and maybe 25 yards beyond. No neighbors to worry about or children
357mag lever gun 16" I like lever guns would be around 600 for a rossi plus ammo
Ar15 16" I have one so I have ammo and mags. Find them a little boring but necessary. 425.00 for a Delton
AK wasr10 Like these but have a hard time spending the kind of money they want. At least 625.00 plus ammo and mags
Keltec sub 2000 40 cal. Light and reliable and have ammo already. But what about an apocalypses scenario how would it hold up. The least expensive
Please pick one of these and give me your reasons for just these. Thanks

Which one are you most comfortable shooting, reloading and handling? Seems to me that the answer to this question is the answer to your question.

Agree. Any of those work well on a bad guy. The one you should choose is the one that you shoot well and enjoy shooting, so you will be encouraged to practice. Visit a range and see if you can sample at least some of them.

Inside the house, the Sub 2000 because it's much quieter. Can't imagine shooting an AR or AK indoors. Outside, not sure.

IMO the AR15 provided it's reliable. Good capacity, good manuverable size, lots of platform specific training available, pretty easy to run, reload and correct jams and problems, and you have one.
Lever guns can short stroke, and pretty much stuck fighting with whatever the mag tube holds.
AKs IMO are harder to run well compared to ARs, harder to mount lights/optics, but can work, although if you don't have one, stick to the AR for defense.
KT S2K, more recoil, less intuitive controls than the AR, not a bad choice, but not as good as the AR, and 40S&W isn't as ideal as a rifle caliber. 5.56 is more effective especially if a home invader has some form of body armor, and it's more prone to fragment through walls, so less chance of an intact bullet leaving the house.

    Fire superiority.

This. With proper ammo selection, a .223 round is less likely to go through walls into the house next door or across the street.
Also with a 20 or 30 round mag, more rounds available before needing another mag (malfunctions aside)
Biggest downside is how loud it would be, easy solution is to put a suppressor on it.

.357 16" "Trapper" lever as long as it will take .38 Spl too. Why? well afterwards the lawyers cant hang you for using "A deadly assault weapon with a high capacity magazine"!
    Why .38 too?
Ever fired a full house .357 indoors without haring protection?

Is this for you or someone else? You say you already have an AR15 but you list a price for one as if you have to buy it.
You can defend yourself with any gun, no need to complicate things.

    With sub-sonics. 147s fer instance.

It also folds up pretty well into a backpack or whatnot. The problem is that it's harder to make yourself shoot to kill when the bad guy is having a good honest laugh with you about how freakin' ugly that Sub2K is. I'm allowed to make that joke because I have one. It's taking a long, long nap in the safe.

On the OP's question: Lever gun is too unwieldy, AR will permanently damage your hearing inside - even suppressed, that's a cracklingly loud round. Have one around for when the situation migrates out the door.

Another thread like this mentioned that it's the 21st century and you're including a lever action that was the SOTA in the 19th century. Nonetheless, my Winchester model 94 was my home defense rifle for 30+ years. Nowadays, I rely on a wimpy pistol to get to the safe room where a Colt AR-15 is discreetly available.

The AR-- but...since you opened the door to owning a second one, I'd ditch the 16" and go with a pistol length/SBR w/suppressor.
