Does anyone know of a MD dealer who has the CMMG banshee in stock? I would like to hold one to see if it fits me.
Now that it's looking like the proposed MD AWB expansion is DOA and I don't need to blow through a ton of cash all the sudden, I have been thinking about upgrading my AR-9 PCC to the Taccom ESSB/DBRS magnetically delayed blowback system. I am skeptical it's as good as RDB or the MPX's piston system, but any advantage in terms of keeping that dot steady during recoil seems like a good thing.
With all things, you pay more and more for less and less performance. Which is to say, you can get 80% of the performance for 50% of the cost. But if 100% of the performance is your goal, you're paying 100% of the cost. When I say performance, I don't mean end results. You cannot buy end results; they're mostly a product of skill modified by the platform you're shooting. What you're buying is a product that will let you use your skills to 100%.You think the mpx rifles are worth the 1,600 bucks, vs the competitors?

That is a long-winded way of saying, yes, I think it's worth it IF you are shooting in a context where maximum performance is a thing.
One other consideration is that if you shoot enough, the cost of the gun is secondary to the cost of ammo. The cost of an MPX PCC is, more or less, eight thousand rounds of quality 9mm. If it's my main competition PCC, chances are good that I am going to be putting way more than that through it over its lifetime between matches and practice. I mean, you can do the math here: if a typical SC match is 125 rounds, and I spend 125 rounds practicing per match, that's 250 rounds for every match. If I shoot 8 matches a year, I'm going to be through 8k rounds in 4 years. It adds up fast.
Stribog Update.
Took the Bog out to test some more ammo and practice with it.
Really like the way it shoots. I was nailing mybsteels from about 35 years fairly easily with the red dot.

Did you have your warp drive hooked up for this string?

Ha! Nice catch. Sorry for the grammatical error. If I had a warp drive I wouldn’t be posting on this forum!
35 yards.
Thanks, have a nice evening.
I finally got a chance to hold a Scorpion, MPX K and a CMMG Banshee and decided to get a Banshee. Yesterday, on the way back from the York gun show, I stopped in at Tyler's and ordered a Cmmg 9mm Banshee 300. Hopefully I'll have it in 2 to 3 weeks.
The Bog is fun for the range, but I was really hoping it wouldn’t be as ammo picky as it has been so far. Wondering if a slight chamber reaming would help it.
So the general consensus is the stribogs like any 115-124 grain ball ammo but nothing else?
I finally broke down and bought one, Dan at Baltimore best pawn had some for a nice deal.
I can’t pick up until next week but I was hoping this thing isn’t a picky little Hooker to shoot.
I’m already looking at after market parts lol.
I’ll be there as well. Don’t have a PCC yet so I’m interested. Trying to decide if I want to build one or go the easy route.
