I assume you made the change as the SB PDW gave you the length that you were happy with. I currently have the CMMG Rip Brace on mine and usually use it fully extended. By adding the LAW folder, I can just shorten the stock and still have a good length. Did you have any issues with the LAW unit?

    TIA

No. My 9mm ran fine with it. I later put it on a pre '13 build that was having cycling problems. Tried everything including LAW removal to no avail. Finally broke down and did a sotar reliability job on the bolt and carrier(only stinking PSA part I ever bought) and the gun runs like a top now! I have the folder if you're interested...

Just got back from putting another 200 rounds through my Banshee 9mm. I don't know if I mentioned it but I put a Raise Armament Rave 140 trigger in it and man what a difference. It was on sale somewhere for $99 and free shipping so I said "do it". I wanted a single stage self contained unit and the reviews I read made up my mind for me. Crisp 3.5 pound trigger (feels lighter), breaking glass let off and short reset. I was having a blast on an Idpa target at 20 yards this morning. With a scope, I'll bet I could put five bullets in the same hole, it is that accurate. With a non magnified Reflex 3 MOA Dot sight, I was able to keep five rounds in that I could cover with a penny.

I have been using 5.2 Powerpistol with 125 cast PC's bullets in all my 9mm's but I think I need to come up a couple tenths for the Banshee. I have had about 4 squashed cases and a couple of failures to lock using my ammo. I have had no problems with 400 rounds of WW white box.

So the banshee is worth the extra money in your opinion ?

Without a doubt. It is built well and is all AR with glock mags. You never have to worry about proprietary parts not being available. For me, at 5'7", the brace fits just right with enough adjustment for shoulder and sternum positioning.

The only thing I may add is the folding adapter and that is strictly for a smaller footprint.

I have some serious triggers from back in my high power days, i.e. Krieger Millazzo, and yet this under a $100 trigger works perfect for this pistol. IMHO, a single stage trigger is much better in this application. If I was 30 years younger, I would also have purchased the straight trigger but I am too slow and old to change now.

I've been waiting on this...now, I'm really torn. I thought I was going CZ route (cheaper) and you come back raving about Banshee. Decisions, decisions.

The biggest turn off for me with the CZ was the molded in rails on the forend. They didn't feel right to me and would have needed covers which would have made the forend too large for my hand.

I believe you got the Banshee at Tyler's? I was in there yesterday and it was so packed I turned around and left. I may have to wait until the chicken littles crawl back into their holes.

that's one thing i don't understand. the rifle length scorpion has a full m lok handguard with none of the molded picatinny, but the pistol does.

its def a perk i think the Stribog pistol has over the scorpion.

knowing ruger, its probably a real pita to disassemble compared to the other options.

Well it’s probably exactly like the full size PCC. Which is nearly identical to a 10/22. So I guess depends on your definition of pita.

There is 1 screw. The stribog doesn’t require removing any screws for field stripping. So it is that much easier.

I shot mine today. 5” cmmg barrel and bolt on an Aero upper and lower running endomags. It took a few mags to break in but the last few mags ran fine with bolt hold open after the last round. It’s a lot of fun to shoot.

My PCC experience is limited to 3. The CZ Scorpion EVO, the Chiappa Rak 9, and the Hi Point 995.

The Scorpion is the most expensive of the 3, and the best looking IMHO. It has very little recoil, and seems to have a springy sound like the AR. A few places make mags for it, the CZ versions, clear and black windowed mags, Manticore mags, and the PSA mags. With the faux suppressor, I think it is a damn gorgeous gun.

The Chiappa Rak 9 is a Romanian built AK, chambered in 9mm using blowback action. It feels like a real 7.62 AK, looks like it. In stock form, it's limited to 10 round mags, however with a magwell adapter can use Glock 9mm magazines. Of the 3 guns I shot, this had the smoothest cycling, lowest recoil pulse. Maybe it was the rubber buffer or wood stock soaking it up, but I could shoot it all day. I wish there were 30rd AK style mags for this as the Glock mags look funny in it, to me. Fully functional, but just look odd. But either way, I love the Rak 9.

Hi Point 995 Classic. What can I say? It was cheap, came with a few mags. It ran 100%, but is a pain to disassemble and clean compared to the other 2. It also had by far the snappiest recoil, and with the classic style stock was almost uncomfortable to shoot for a long shooting session. I ended up selling the 995 Classic and bought a 995TS solely for the recoil absorbing stock as well as the rails on the stock and receiver cover to ad lasers and optics. Figured it was easier than converting my 995 Classic. It is a cheap, heavy gun. But at the price point, as well as very generous warranty and reputation for reliability, the 995 is a great budget minded option.

All 3 guns ran 100% for me shooting a mix of Remington, Winchester and Silver Bear 145gr subsonic ammo. All had pretty much the same accuracy at 25 yards.

My overall favorite is the Rak 9, followed VERY closely by the Scorpion. In terms of lust factor, the Hi Point can't compete, but is a capable little carbine. I eventually plan to get a .45ACP Hi Point carbine once all the gun panic dies down, as well as a 9mm AR upper.

Anyone running a magpul afg 2 on their stribog yet? Thought about adding one of those to mine, with possibly a vg6 9mm compensator/ or hbi if I decide to go the cheaper route.

After reading through this thread I am now somewhat remorseful for going the AR9 route. The Ruger PCC and charger model, as well as a KelTec are cost effective alternatives, although they don't have the options of an AR9 (triggers, hand grip, hand guard, etc).

I have an HK 91 clone, and roller delayed blow back is very cool. But I am not dropping two grand on a 9mm MP5 semi-auto clone. Seems to me to be overkill unless it's full auto. Why not a SIG MPX? And I am kind of luke warm on the HK sights. That's just me. I don't know, maybe I would change my mind if I shot one.

CMMG RDB system is a game changer for the AR platform. < $350.
