First MCP offers a statement "defending" their actions. Then the MCP CHIEF, issues citations for what they presumably think are charges that might stick. Now the SA office drops all charges. Lies beget lies. They screwed up so bad, this is almost worse than the whole "give them room to destroy" statement.

Wishful thinking, but it would be sweet justice if someone rolled on who told them to arrest R&R. If that happened that would be the cherry on top.

I think this is what everyone would like to know. Although, many have their opinions and I think they are valid.

Hogan on WMAL right now. But soft ball questions about crab cakes.

    same old same old.

I am on hold with WMAL to see if host Larry O'Conner will take my call after Gov. Hogan is done with his segment. The show producers say there will not be any callers put on the air with the Gov.

Is is not likely that the host will put me on because I am on hold to discuss my issues with being arrested, which is not likely to be on the issues board for the WMAL show this afternoon, but nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Note carefully that Miller's name is nowhere in that letter.

    Read between the lines, gentlemen.
Meaning the guy not mentioned is the culprit?

Absolutely. Information by omission is still information. They can't directly throw him under the bus, because that would interfere with future dealings, but make no mistake: his name was left off intentionally.

So now the next thing for R&R to consider. I know he originally stated that he wanted Monday to strictly focus on 1A. Now that charges are dropped, should we add some 2A protests back in the mix Monday? We need to keep the pressure on, but I also see the value of not having mixed messages.

Victor Ramirez wants to chat about taking your rights away! We went on 3 Feb, two days later the Hulbert brothers are arrested. Hmmm.
Victor is having another chat this Saturday. We need to be there! https://www.mdshooters.com/showpost.php?p=5086469&postcount=1

It seems pretty far-fetched to imagine that this was not a tipping point for some of the entrenched leadership. Obviously, this is not "evidence" but the storyline doesn't really follow without this event. There is simply no other explanation for the sudden urgency behind the MCP's actions. JMHO

I don't believe the focus of the assemblage will change. Just because they dropped the charges doesn't mean the focus should change.

This is a 1A event and illegal deprivation of the 1A Constitutionally guaranteed right. Everyone is aware of the PP main focus is on 2A.

    This is different.

Just my opinion. I don't speak for PP leadership.

Here's what I just got from my Delegate, Christian Miele:

Hi [FMD], I wanted to let you know that the charges were dropped on the two individuals that were arrested earlier this week. Below is a press release from the Republican Caucus about the situation. If you have any questions please let me know.

House Republican Leaders Applaud Decision to Drop Charges Against 2nd Amendment Activists

Annapolis – House Minority Leader Nic Kipke and House Minority Whip Kathy Szeliga today applauded the dropping of charges against two 2nd Amendment activists who were arrested in front of the State House on Monday night. Kevin and Jeff Hulbert, members of The Patriot Picket, an organization that supports 2nd Amendment rights and stage peaceful protests during the legislative session, were arrested during a protest Monday night. The charges against them were dropped today.

“This arrest never should have happened,” said House Minority Leader Nic Kipke. “Citizens have a sacred right to free speech which applies everywhere but especially at the Maryland State House. These gentlemen have been coming to Annapolis to lawfully express their views for years. I am relieved the charges against these gentlemen have been dropped and want to thank Governor Larry Hogan, Speaker Mike Busch, and State’s Attorney Wes Adams who I believe all shared my concerns about this unacceptable incident. The Capitol Police do a fantastic and not often easy job; I look forward to working with them to ensure something like this never happens again to anyone lawfully expressing their First Amendment rights.”

“Unimpeded political speech is a cornerstone of our democracy and a sacred right held by all Americans,” said House Minority Whip Kathy Szeliga. “While I am glad to see the charges dropped, this arrest never should have happened. I hope this incident serves as a learning opportunity for the Capitol Police and they can, in the future, strike the appropriate balance and protect the public without impeding on free speech. Otherwise, this arrest could have people thinking twice before they come to Annapolis to express their views. That would be a travesty.”

I'd like to hear from someone smarter than me on the euphemistically-named MD Legal System:

If the charges are dropped, are the records incidental to the arrest destroyed/expunged? I can see the vengeful bas%ards adding NICS entries.

    NICS contains convictions, not arrests.

And the charges were for misdemeanors with a sentence of less than 2 years anyway. Not prohibitors.

Boy, if someone had actually thought this thing through, the last thing they would want is FREE publicity for the PP and sympathy for the cause of both 1A and 2A rights.

Complete morons with no strategic thinking involved

    Good.

They will be witnessing the law of unintended consequences in action.

States Attorney (or whomever serves this function in Annapolis) just saved the Capital Police and those that instructed them to make the arrest a lot of heartache in the court and media.

Hope this comes with an apology and a restatement from the DGS that peaceful protests that don't impede traffic are allowed on the sidewalk in front of Lawyer's Mall.

Not true. They can choose NOT to allow them to drop the charges and proceed with court proceedings to root out the idiot that started this mess. Allowing them to recover attorney's fee's , pain a suffering, mental anguish. It ain't over yet!!

I would keep the message 1A. it's powerful, broad-spectrum, and resonates with EVERYONE*. Besides, the message going out over the radio and social media has been "come join us to oppose 1A infringement." I would be torqued if an advertised 1A rally was bait-and-switched to a [anything-else] focus.

    * grumpy, indigestion-riddled legislators excepted

We have two months left to get into SPECIFIC demonstrations against particular 2A infringement bills and bans.

But remember, the Monday Night crowd will be populated by people who are FIRED UP ABOUT THE WORST KIND OF 1ST AMENDMENT INFRINGMENT--HANDCUFF INFRINGEMENT! We owe it to those folks to stage the 1A Picket that they signed up for.

For that reason the focus for Monday Night does NOT change. Please know that we have always planned to bring some of our most striking 2A signs as a small centerpiece for the Picket, but that nearly everyone else will hold this sign below or the version of it they make at home.

Remember, the power of this event comes from the horizon-to-horizon presentation of this very powerful slap at Statist suppression. It's just one night folks, so let's not walk on this FREEDOM OF SPEECH theme.

It's almost funny to watch THEM squirm...they cannot unf*ck this sh1ttery. No matter how long or how hard they may try. Indeed, the more they squirm, the worse it gets. That's karma. She's got a wicked sense of humor.

They ordered up a sh1t sammich. They fully intended for the Patriot Picket to dine on it.

Unfortunately for them, they got caught.

Guess what's for dinner for the traitors in Annapolis? Sh1t sammiches.

Eat hearty y'all. You named the menu. Bon appetit.
