I approached a handful of the “alderpersons” to ask if they could give me a sense of how many emails they had gotten.

Alderman Paone, who had put up the most resistance to the arrogant Buckley on behalf of his already heavily taxed constituents, told me he has gotten at least a dozen agitated emails.

Deep Lurker and I each wrote emails to every alderperson “demanding answers” and declaring “shame!” as regards this Mayor’s transparent political agenda. Eruby and Crazy San Man (in CO) were writing them, too.

If you do the math then Deep Lurker, Eruby, CSM and I ALONE accounted for a third of his emails questioning this project about 8-9 different ways.

Early in the day we had 300-400 thread views so I suspect others on the forum helped with email bombs, LOL. With the help of just 4 more MDS members (and/or lurkers) we accounted for the majority of the emails that put a hole in Gavin’s political dingy right at the dock. Nice!

Before hearing the Council’s refusal to “pay up sucka” in advance of Saturday, Mayor Buckley made a big speech. From my notes:

“There is healing power in music and free speech”.

“This is not a political speech I am making. This is not about gun control!”.

“Journalism can never be silenced. It must speak immediately while the signs of horror are in the air. “
Mayor For Life Gavin Buckley was clearly STUNG by the council’s resistance to his brilliance.

This underscores the importance of emails and other communications to our successes. Without them our chances of success would have been slim.

I heard today from a reliable source (well 2, that were contacted) that the mayor is hitting up local businesses to fund this now.

I don't know yet how exactly it is being proposed to them (as purely a benefit, or a benefit with political speakers). I will try to find out more tomorrow.

The mayor has already hit up Annapolis businesses for the $$ to pay for the staging and the pro sound crews, along with expense money for the bands and the activist Democrats who will be on the microphone haranguing the crowd on Saturday.

Not sure how successful the mayor will be going back to the well again.

That's going to be hard to recoupe expenses with only 3000 potential attendees. i'm guessing he is one of those many people that you scratch you head and wonder how he made it past fast food.

Mayor Gavin Buckey is desperate now.

He was humiliated when he announced a partisan fundraiser on the City of Annapolis website—WITHOUT city council input—and then dared the council to refuse his demand that the City of Annapolis provide cops, EMTs, event fencing and other permits at no charge.

As of this moment, the mayor lost that face-off.

This episode has exposed a rift between Buckey—a novice “rogue” politician and the council, which is irritated with the mayor’s “my way or the highway” approach to governing.

Ultimately, the losers will NOT be the politicians, but the Gazette families, who will suffer the consequences of Buckley’s zero-collaboration “on the fly” management style that has resulted in a poorly managed partisan fundraiser that does not appear to have enough scale to gather really SIGNIFICANT donation amounts.

We are tentatively aiming for 3pm as the time our Patriot Picket crew will take our position at the event on Saturday.

We have a veteran squad ready to go, but we welcome other experienced PP participants to join us.

Owing to an atmosphere that we expect to be agitated, we must request that people who have not stood with us in the past please join us at a future date.

All PP participants joining the effort on Saturday will receive coordinating info by PM, so stand by for that.

We will be parking and mustering up away from the concert, distributing signs and flags, and proceeding to the event as a group.

If it's really going to be a benefit concert to help the families, it shouldn't have any political crap attached. This is clearly a political stunt, not a benefit.

We are presenting three messages at Saturday’s rally—rights that only Communists and Anarchists would disagree with.

Our first sign, “We Stand For Freedom Of The Press” is in direct alignment with the “benefit concert” messaging. (See the logo in post 113).

But we provide TWO MORE messages that are right in line with our first sign—except these are designed to rankle the pompous Leftist HACKS who only believe in the “a la carte” Bill of Rights—meaning the 2nd AMENDMENT IS NOT INCLUDED in their “freedom” declarations!

So what is it going to be Democrats? A “pick-and-choose” Bill of Rights for you?

We will have great visibility. Each of our signs is 4 feet tall, 3 feet wide.
