I've worn a P229 in a suede holster for 17 years almost daily, I never thought of it either.

Everyone is on the Vedder bandwagon, I've switched to tenicor. The fit is incredible, thinner, and the metal clips and many mounting options make it superior. They literally put a card in there saying "No safe queens allowed".
With use, your gun will wear.
That's how fine their fit is. And I'm ok with that.

I have a leather OWB holster for my winter carry as well. It's just as nice as kydex in different ways

The positive click retention isn't there with leather. But the leather does give with the movement of my body better. And if my belt is properly tight it keeps the leather holster snuggly gripping the gun. (I am also talking IWB vs OWB so that is a huge variable)

And kydex will cause wear marks on a gun too. Neither kydex nor leather are immune to that. Leather will take longer to show wear though just because it's softer.

I am fine with my leather holster if I know I am going to just be walking. If I might have to do any physical exertion I am personally happier with the positive click retention of kydex that I know will keep the gun in place even if I am hanging upside down.

I like leather for OWB and kydex for IWB but that said I rarely carry OWB just for concealment reasons.

What the heck, man? Aren't we on the Vedder bandwagon because you put us there?
Well, Vedder is the better option because they fit pretty much every gun available.
Tenicor only fits certain Glocks and SIG's, and I think an M&P or two.

I wear a light tuck with a Sig P365. I tried it in the appendix position but it didn't work for me there. I settled on the 4 o'clock position and, with a little modification, it works well.

I used a heat gun to mold the holster sides for better contour to my body and I moulded the flat spot near the trigger for better retention. I am happy with it as it hides well and is as comfortable as a IWB can be.

You don't adjust the tension screw for tension? Hell. You can crank it down and the gun can't come out.

    This.

I have that same set up (holster and gun) and if I overtighten the retention screw that gun does not come out. And it doesn't matter how hard I pull it. (That's what she said.)

Co-sign on the Vedder LightTuck IWB with Claw/Wing. That’s my go to IWB for my P365 XL and P320 XCompact. That, paired up with a Medium Tier 1 Concealed wedge allows my P365 XL to disappear under a t-shirt.

Mind you, I now have a bin of other holsters that didn’t work. Considering a yard sale.

No tension screw on mine. Maybe because I have a laser on it.

Sometimes the screws that attach the clip and adjust cant are also the tension adjustment.

Look behind them. Are there rubber bushings between the kydex? If so, tightening them will bring the two sides together and increase the retention hold.

In this pic, for example, the screws are doing triple duty.... holding the clip, holding the claw, and adjusting retention.

It has to have one. It literally cannot work without one.

Can you post a photo of your holster?

We can point out how to adjust it
Thanks for your offer. However, I have been wearing kydex holsters since they were invented and I was carrying a 1911. Several of my holsters have tension adjustment screws. This does not as the area where the screw goes is taken up by the CT laser.

To adjust it, I heated it with a heat gun and inserted a divot behind the front of the trigger guard which keeps it from coming out via gravity. At my age, I no longer chase people or get in rough and tumbles so this is only a feel good fix. ;)

The screws only go into the outside of the holster and are only for adjusting cant and securing the clip.

Strange. What holds the two halves of the kydex together? Or is it a kydex/leather hybrid?
I screwed up in my initial post in that I have a rapid tuck and not a light tuck. The light tuck does have a tension screw, the rapid tuck does not. Mine did not have the little divot you see in the picture either, but I added one.

    Sorry for the confusion.

You probably won't get the wear out of it like guys I worked with, but these hybrids stretch and you'll need to figure out how to tension it more or just buy a new one.
Guys were destroying their crossbreeds just sweating on the leather and such.
I think you'll be fine though.

I wore crossbreeds with a Sig 229 but never wore them in a high humidity environment. When they stretch, it is easy to heat and bend the kydex to take up the slack. In the winter, I carry in my jacket or coat pocket more than wearing a IWB holster so this should last a good while.
