    Hey everyone,
I’m new to the forum but old enough to know forums before social media.
I’ve resolved myself to become proficient with my old 12gauge and have enjoyed a trip to Orvis for some sporting clays and recently enjoyed several rounds of trap at Carroll County Gun Club. I’ve been around Izaak Walton as a guest several times over the years and held memberships for the State Forest shooting ranges in Western Maryland.
I came here to seek out information and find a culture that shares my value systems.
I have paid for and complete my HGP and W&C however my application is currently in limbo from over a year ago largely due to my inaction and the birth of my first child.
Thankfully, I’ve found and read through some helpful resources here that have given me newfound hope to push forward with chasing down the application issue I believe is affecting me.
Also I was sort of surprised to find none of the gun stores around me have a buffer tube spanner wrench on the shelf.
Would anyone have any recommendations for gun shops that actually stock this item (AR15 armorers wrench?) Jeff Bezos doesn’t need any more of my money regardless of how often his latest wife needs lip injections or he needs testosterone injections…
Yes, I have a brass punch and magazine Vice block. No I don’t want to use it just yet. I am maturing in my middle age and want to use proper tools and be purposeful.
Hopefully by tomorrow evening I’ll be a lanyard carrying member of the Littlestown Fish and Game Club, and may also join Orvis for their sporting clays membership. If my wife asks, it’s a cheap hobby.
Thanks for your time, and hopefully this year will be a good year to shoot while we still can in this lovely state.

You’ll find yourself in pretty good company here - there are a lot of like-minded folks here on the board. My wife and I just recently got into shooting trap too - it’s pretty addicting.

    Welcome to the board!

Apply for the HGP ONLY- once that's approved, the HQL is FREE.

Congrats on the newborn, and welcome aboard1

Welcome from Davidsonville. Sounds like you'll fit right in here.
Spanner wrench- I'm not familiar with Frederick area shops but there is a gun show this weekend in Annapolis if you're into that. Also the w&c training might have an expiration date, so check that.

I'm pretty sure the training class is good for 2 years. Livescan fingerprints had to be submitted within 30 days for the HqL in the past, not sure if that's still the case or not?

    Oh and welcome Abolishthenfa.
With a screen name like that I like you already

    Welcome!

I can bring an Armorers wrench to the show with me this weekend at Anne Arundel County Fairgrounds. I have tons of spares laying around the shop

Hey thanks for the offer, but I just ordered one and spent the weekend taking the little one to family events on both sides. I did sneak in a late night repair session and fixed my take-down retaining pin. After he went to bed. I also just realized my handgun permit was never actually submitted until just now. I assume my fingerprint scans are DOA, but hopefully I can just get more recent ones and resubmit. I’m waiting for a call back from IOTA for further instructions since Friday as well. It seems like they have chosen to prioritize quantity over quality…

Fingerprints are valid for a year.
