    Forum Rules

By using this forum, you agree to be bound by the conditions and rules herein.

Disclaimer: Although the administrators and moderators of Maryland Shooters will attempt to keep all objectionable messages off this forum, it is impossible for us to review all messages. All messages express the views of the author, and neither the owners and moderators of Maryland Shooters nor Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd. (developers of vBulletin) will be held responsible for the content of any message.

The contents of this website are provided 'as is' without warranty of any kind. In no event shall the owners or moderators of Maryland Shooters be liable for any damages suffered or alleged to have been suffered in the course of using this website or the information contained herein. All liability is assumed by the user.

By agreeing to these rules, you warrant that you will not post any messages that are obscene, vulgar, sexually-oriented, hateful, threatening, or otherwise violative of any laws.

The moderators of Maryland Shooters reserve the right to remove, edit, move or close any thread, and/or ban or restrict any member for any reason.

Personal attacks: This is a forum of and for adults. Personal attacks and throwing insults at other members is not acceptable. Everyone also has access to the "edit" and "delete" functions for their own posts, so losing your temper is not an excuse.

Common Courtesy: Is expected of everyone. This is a very general rule but one that any adult shouldn't have trouble following. As a rule, if you wouldn't say something to someone's face, then you should think twice before saying to them it over the Internet. Remember that everyone places different values on things and what's small and insignificant to you might be a big deal to another member.

Illegal Activity: No threads or posts discussing how to violate laws.

Racially offensive material: Racially offensive postings or material are not welcome and will get you banned quickly. This is a diverse forum of people from many different ethnicities, all of whom are welcome here. Diversity is welcome at Maryland Shooters. If you don't like that, then please find somewhere else to go.

Use of the private messaging system: Use of the PM system to circumvent the rules will not be tolerated, especially when it comes to the buying and selling of items.

Threats: Threatening another member in any way will get you banned in very short order. This is a local forum and many of us run into one another in the real world (so think twice before your gorilla mouth overdrafts your parakeet ass). This category not only includes physical threats but also threatening someone's job or carry status, etc. because you disagree with them or don't like them.

Copyright violations: Cutting and pasting any external article content is not permitted. If you care about the forum please don't do it. We can't afford to get shut down over a needless lawsuit and these legal firms are getting more aggressive about coming after site owners. So when you want to reference an article, you may post:
    1)A link to the article.
    2)The title of the article.
3)A brief summation in your own words of the article.
That is it. Nothing more. As in nothing, nada, zero. No first sentence clipped out, nothing. Violating this policy will draw infractions and/or banning regardless of who you are.

Advertising: No self-promoting of business links/interests is allowed. Businesses (including Youtube/Instagram folks) need to contact Kevin for information on becoming an Industry Partner.

Classified Ad Rules: Mdshooters.com strives to provide its members with a community-oriented forum where members participate in more than online discussions. One of the most highly used features of the forum is the classified section where members in good standing can advertise their firearms, firearms-related items, and the occasional unrelated item for free.

To be considered "in good standing" we have implemented what is referred to as "The 50 Post Rule." Members wishing to sell an item on mdshooters.com are required to participate in the online discussions and become a contributing member of the community. After a member has contributed 50 posts, they may offer to sell items on the mdshooters.com free classified service. "Spamming" of the forum will result in a member's post count being reset to ZERO. A second infraction will result in the termination of the member's free account.

In an effort to give all users the most equitable use of the classifieds section, users are limited to no more than 5 open ads. The administration reserves the right to remove ads that exceed the 5 ad limit with no warning or explanation.

Users are required to use the default setting of "3 weeks" for their ads so that every person using the classifieds has an equal chance of their ad being rotated to the top. It is no longer permissible to select short durations and re-list the ad in order to move your ad to the top. Violators will have their ads closed.

Anyone repeatedly abusing the free service provided by the classifieds is at risk of losing that privilege permanently.

The long overdue official Forum Rules. Yipee!

Please read all of the rules. By continuing to log in to MDShooters you agree to abide by the rules as stated, and if you decide to break any of the rules you understand that you have to deal with the consequences of your actions.

I'm considering the slate clean as of today. Kind of ironic that it is is Easter, eh? I have violated many of these rules on many occasions, so I'm not casting any stones. Let's just move forward and try to make this the place that it once was and could be again.

A gentle bump here for new members. Asking in a thread about how much your new rifle might fetch for sale will be considered as an attempt to sell. It's a sellers market right now, please feel free to use online gun selling services or any of our Industry Partners if you need to get cash for your weapon now.

    Bump/reminder.

If you're here just to argue and insult people, you won't be here long regardless of how long you've already been here.

It's important that this community adhere to the standards that we've set.

What we do here matters in the real world and the juvenile behavior of a few people cannot be allowed to affect our purposeful actions.

At more than 20,000 members we can afford to cut loose those who cannot follow the very simple expectations that we have here.

    Carry on.

A not so gentle reminder, particularly for those that seem to enjoy seeing how close they can get to the line and constantly push other peoples' buttons. Take that passive aggressive nonsense elsewhere and be an adult.

I'll put it here so it's finally codified...

No more threads to discuss and or share pictures of women/ girls/ ladies/ attractive people. No more posts for that purpose in other threads. No more links shared just for that purpose. This isn't a porn site, it's not even Maxim. If the purpose is because the person in the picture is attractive, it doesn't belong here. Period. Full stop. No more ever again. You want to look at beautiful women, the internet is full of them. Go elsewhere.
