Just heard about this site from my step-son. It seems like an outstanding resource and an important source of information and guidance to help stop the nonsense being proposed at the state and federal levels.

I'm from just West of Annapolis - in Riva. Probably the only thing anyone knows in Riva is Mike's Crab House (OK bar food, great summer views, so so help). Favorite hobby is/was boating. Getting close to retirement - govt attorney who has spent my entire career handling international fugitive matters. Waiting for MSP clearance for a SA XDM in .40. Many years ago I used to get to the range with some regularity - hoping to get back into the habit and also ensure that my 8 year old grandson has the same opportunities to shoot. (rejoined NRA and just mailed application to MSI)
Looking forward to trying to contribute. Mike H

Welcome! Just down the South River in Edgewater on the other side of the Rt.2 bridge. Big boater here (both sail and power). Plenty of folks here willing to help and educate.

    Thanks everyone

Matt & Mark, if you see a 30 Sea Ray named "Legal Holiday" on the South river, that would be me. The community marina is across from Lee Airport on Beard's Creek (where the rope swing was until the tree fell late last summer).
Do you use On Target?? My stepson has used the range in Upper Marlboro a few times and thought it was OK. thanks again

If you see a Catalina sailboat named "Ruff Heeler" (in script along her aft sides) or a white/black Bayliner named "Ruff Life", those are our boats. We're out of Almshouse Creek a few hundred yards from Liberty Marina (entrance is at green 15 past Coconut Joe's).

I generally shoot in Virginia with my work colleagues at the NRA, Blue Ridge or Quantico. In Maryland, I'm generally on the Eastern Shore since I am predominantly a rifleman.

If you want to get together and compare notes, chat, just meet fellow gunnies, we can alway gather at Mike's for some crabs or at one of the other nearby restaurants. I'm just off Route 2 so lots of options.

    Thanks again everyone

Matt - if I don't speak with you before then, when things warm up a bit I'll trackdown this thread and send a message seeing if anyone wants to have a get-together on the deck of some restaurant on the river.

Welcome aboard! Greetings from Warehouse Creek. If you're interested in shooting outdoors, I'd be glad to take you up to AGC sometime on a weekday (Thur or Fri).
