I appreciate the heads-up about the additional headaches for MD residents at this show. Went to Chantilly the first time a few months ago, met a friend and had a good time. Was thinking of going today and try out the new C&R license, but a hour+ drive each way, paying admission and then after already dealing with MD BS, being told by vendors you paid to access that they won't sell to you - out of spite - because you are a MD resident, I'll pass and try whatever it is in MD next week.

    HoCo
There were Ruger 25 round mags The Ruger brand as well as the Butler Creek (get the steel lips, not red one)
Glad I did not want to make a C&R purchase, I'll have to try a PA show next time instead of Shantytilly.

Of course, me and/or my dad will go to the HoCo show cause its local.

Glad I didn't waste my time. I was able to buy a .22 there back in December of 2012. Haven't tried to buy anything other than mags, ammo and accessories since. Sounds like I'll just keep buying on the interwebz or from the locals.

That powder guy/lady from PA was very slow. The line should have ran the direction where people weren't trying to look at inventory. It took them forever to run a transaction. They looked like they weren't even processing transactions. I lost my patience after about 5 minutes of not seeing anything move.

The guy was quick, I hit them very first thing Saturday morning. The lady had never done transactions before. She found me a 1# of H335 though (buried behind some other powder) so I was appreciative.

I came back around 11 to pick up whatever scraps and the line was huge. The man should have taken over the transactions to speed things up.

C&R prices seemed higher then normal this show?

Yeah most prices were pretty high from what I saw. Couple of prices that stood out to me.

Yugo M57 Pistol (pretty beat up) - $295 (AIM Has them for $169 right now)
    Beat up SKS's - $350-450+

The funniest was the Ruger 10/22's I saw.. One dealer had a "BRAND NEW!" standard wood model listed for $325. I picked one up on the way home at Walmart for $199..

Is there a go-to guy there for pmags?

Back right, has em in the 1k sized boxes, even if other dealers have lower prices marked he will beat em. About 6 larger magpul dealers and 15 or more smaller inventory ones so pretty competitive.

Complete and total bust for RPD drums. A couple of particularly obnoxious mag sellers had absolutely no idea what an RPD is and kept "correcting" me by trying to sell me AK stuff. This was the "show of no."

"No, we don't sell that." "No, you can't buy that." "No, we don't have it." "No, I can't reduce my outrageous price for any reason."

Did find some good stuff though, despite some of the newbie-predatory pricing.

Are the MOE mags the same as Pmags? 5 for $50 was the best posted price I saw. Wasn't looking though.

:sad20: oh well... I guess I'll have to wait till the next show. Wife would kill me if I asked to go to Chantilly this weekend.

    :wtf: You have to ASK?

Lots of SKS's I think the best deals were probably sino-soviets and the price was either $295 or $395. They are in the back of the show literally covered in cosmo.

I saw those. They were nasty looking?

There was a whole table full, still caked in cosmoline, for $299 ea. looked like 56's.

There were a couple Russkies mixed in there.

I went for my birthday around 6 years ago and a guy wouldn't sell me a German k98 from ww2. He said he doesn't sell to md because he doesn't like their politics. I was not happy.

Was this the same ******* on the left side that somebody else mentioned?

I'm a VA resident and I don't even go to this show. I wait for Fredericksburg or Richmond, much better shows IMO

I've been to the Richmond show but not the Fredericksburg show. How does the Fredericksburg show compare for reloading supplies and magazines?

Same as Chatilly, maybe a little less, but it's less of a drive for me and I find dealers are more likely to make deals, since less MD guys come down

Funny, I thought just about everybody would be friendlier in Fredericksburg than in Chantilly. But you're saying that dealers are more agreeable there just because there's less people from MD?

What the hell did WE do?

They are friendlier, not saying MD guys did anything, I was one until last year, it's the high amount of MD residents at Chantilly that's all
